Daniel brought Alice to a private dining room at the highest restaurant in the city. It was a beautiful space with floor -to-ceiling glass windows which provided an absolutely stunning view of the skyline.
He pulled out the chair for her. "Here you go. It's been quite a while since we had a date night."
"Sorry. I've been really busy with school stuff." She smoothed her skirt down with a brush of her hands and sat down. "I'll have more free time when things cool off."
He was still the same sweet guy.
She never really hated him or the idea of going on dates. What she hated was the sex.
She was still feeling frightened by that awful first sexual experience. That was why she had been avoiding him.
"Oh, no worries." Daniel seated himself opposite her.
Remembering her favorite food, he ordered two main courses for each of them and a dessert.
"That's too much. Maybe we should skip the dessert." Alice said in a low voice.
