While speaking, Lucia had a quick look at Alan.
Mrs. Foster had once mentioned introducing her son to her and showed her his picture. She was attracted to him after she heard his job at Pennvale was great and saw his photo.
And when she saw him in person, she found Alan looked even greater than he did in the picture, and he was tall, which made him more attractive.
But she meant not to bother him since he already had a girlfriend.
Mrs. Foster held her hand, "You're not bothering us, dear. Now come on, let's sit down and chat."
Lucia was embarrassed by that, for she couldn't leave when Mrs. Foster insisted that she should stay longer.
She then had to sit down again, lowering her head silently.
Alan sat down with Wendy at the other side of the couch crossly.
Mrs. Foster, acting like she didn't notice his emotion, kept chatting with Lucia holding her hands.
Wendy took a quick glance at Alan, feeling upset and helpless.
