Just as he was saying, the rest of the family returned home.
"Dottie, my darling, you're finally back."
"We've been worried sick. Thank goodness you're alright. How can we live without you?"
The entire family gathered around the girl and asked how she was holding up.
"Grandpa, grandma, mom, dad, relax, I'm okay now." Dottie hurried to finish what was left on her plate.
"That's great. Remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Grandma Langston stroked her hand.
At this moment, grandma Graham called in, "I heard Dottie is back?
Congratulations!"
Grandma Langston was delighted, "Thanks. That's nice of you."
The two exchanged pleasantries before getting to the point, "Since she's back, may it's time to talk about her engagement with Jack."
Grandma Langston thought for a while, "I'll ask for her opinion. She wants to have more say in this."
