Alice reached to her phone and called Daniel anxiously.
It took more than half an hour to get there by bus, and she couldn't catch up with her parents. So she had to call Daniel and tell him what happened.
But Daniel was too busy with his work and seldom answered her phone. She felt terribly worried.
Luckily, this time she got through. "What's up?" Daniel's voice sounded on the phone.
"Mr. Daniel, are you at home?" asked Alice anxiously. "My parents are going to ask you for money. Don't give it to them!"
"Where are you now?" asked Daniel, noticing that her voice was trembling.
Emma used to ask him for money quite often, especially when her parents were alive. She always took them as an excuse.
So he felt pretty surprised on hearing Alice's words. Though she looked so ordinary, she was indeed an innocent girl.
