Alice was confused, "Why would you take me to your blind date?"
"Come on." Daniel snorted and explained to her, "I just need you to show up as my girlfriend, so those women will give up."
Alice hesitated, "It's... I'm afraid I can't do that. If the elders of the Mullers know it, I..."
"What are you afraid of? I'll take the responsibility." he interrupted her instantly and teased her, "Don't play it cool. You're actually excited about being my girlfriend, right?."
"No, I'm not." she retorted.
However, she didn't understand why Daniel was so certain that she fancied him, no matter how she tried to explain.
Daniel continued speaking, "Well, I'll pick you up at your school. Wait for me there."
Without her agreement, he hung up immediately.
Alice was bewildered and put her phone back into her bag.
