"What? One hundred thousand dollars?"
Charles took a look at HChloeh and thought for a moment, then he took out five-hundred-dollar bills from his wallet, "Forget about that big sum, Sarah. Here're five hundred dollars, enough for you to get by a few days. You can find a job during the period."
He offered the bills owing to past affections indeed.
HChloeh Clark unwilling to give it to them, but given Charles' readiness to help, she had to compromise.
Sarah didn't appreciate his generosity, though: "You take me as a beggar?" she gritted, clenching the bills in hand. "Your daughter Wyonna has died, and you're in your fifties, too old to make a baby. So, why not just wisely leave part of your asset to us instead of giving it out to some strangers?"
With that, she pulled Wani Muller close, "You might as well adopt Wani as your daughter. She may take care of you when you get old. She's bright and kind enough to do that."
