"You shouldn't say that. You are indeed a very eligible bachelor, but you don't like me, and I don't like you..." Wynonna plucked up her courage and continued, "Why would you force two people who have no feelings for each other to be together?"
Shane's eyebrows furrowed deeper as she spoke. He said coldly, "Don't waste your breath. I'm not letting you go no matter what."
"Why? Or do you like me?" asked Wynonna in return.
"No way; you're overthinking it," said Shane with a sneer.
He would never fall in love with a woman. He was keeping her for now to cure his insomnia but would never fall in love with her.
"Prove that you don't like me by letting me go. If you must make me stay, prove that you like me!" Wynonna tried to provoke him with this logic.
After having gone through a near-death experience together the night before, Wynonna was no longer afraid of Shane and raised her voice at him.
