Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Information (1)

"What kind of information are you looking for, young master?" Housekeeper Liang Sheng asked with an understanding tone. As a self-presumed to be Yang Chunqiu's closest aide, the housekeeper knew that this request fell under his part of responsibilities.

In addition, he was obligated to report everything to his real employer, the current patriarch of the Yang Household. After all, he had a reason to follow Yang Chunqiu here to a fifth-Circle Yuanling City.

But even without this obligation, Housekeeper Liang Sheng would still support Yang Chunqiu as much as he could, knowing that he was one of the few people the young master could rely on in this place.

"I want to know the kind of crops the Farming Association grew here in the Yuanling City. Additionally, check further on the matter related to the Tributary-Quality Pearl Rice. I want to know everything about it, from how it was planted, how long the wait before harvest, who owns it, who uses it, who sells it, and who monopolizes it."

"Basically, anything and whoever related to the Pearl Rice, I want to know it all." Said Yang Chunqiu. His manner of speech was serious, but it was hard to take it without feeling laughable. This was because several sesame seeds stuck on Yang Chunqiu's cheek when he was giving out the order, which was likely left there after biting into a fried fritter in his hand.

The nanny quickly noticed this and took a handkerchief to wipe Yang Chunqiu's oily lips. Simultaneously, it also gave both sides a short break to process the request and how to reply to the young master.

"Can I share something that might be helpful to Housekeeper Liang?" Yang Xuan asked.

"Allowed," Yang Chunqiu responded, already replacing the fried fritter in hand with a fried sesame ball. Inside the ball was some sweet red bean filling, somewhat resembling the snack he used to eat back on Earth.

"I think the best place to start asking about the Pearl Rice would be the Burning Spirit Sect." Yang Xuan said.

As a local of Yuanling City, he obviously knew much more than the nanny, the housekeeper, and Yang Chunqiu, who hailed from the capital less than a month ago. His words made the trio look at the guard leader weirdly for a while, allowing the female servants to clear the table and the plates.

Feeling that the trio was unsure what to ask, Yang Xuan continued.

"I am not sure how much outsiders know, but all the locals here know that the Pearl Rice and Burning Spirit Sect cannot be separated. The rice was the main ingredient in the sect's pursuit of brewing the best wine. From what we know, even the royalty sometimes come and reserve their wine for special occassions." Yang Xuan said.

"Furthermore, we have a quote here in Yuanling City. For the best rice and wine in Yuanling, see the Burning Spirit Sect. For the best craftsmen, go to Disciplinary Sword School. And for the best food, visit the Carefree Abode."

"Personally, I think there's a reason for them to be proud of. After all, all the locals here know that the Burning Spirit Sect is excellent in their wine brewing and farming, the Disciplinary Sword School in its metalworks, and the Carefree Abode in culinary." Yang Xuan continued.

(Really? Now, this is rare. I thought those sects here in Eternal Spiring Realm would be the same as those in Xianxia and Xuanhuan TV shows, where they frequently fight and compete against one another and focus on killing and more killing...)

(To think their expertise was in farming, wine-making, metalwork, and culinary... Now, this is quite interesting...)

Yang Chunqiu smirked secretly before wiping his mouth clean with a piece of cloth given by one of the female servants. Simultaneously, it also gave him a break to digest the information Yang Xuan shared with them.

"Housekeeper Liang Sheng, I think the Burning Spirit Sect is a good starting point for what I'm asking for," said Yang Chunqiu, indirectly agreeing with Yang Xuan's suggestion on where to start.

"Your request will be done. This subordinate will get as much information as possible before the young master returns from the Treasured Pavilion, " said the housekeeper, cupping his fists together.

"Then, I'll patiently wait for your good news. Shall we make our way to the Treasured Pavilion together, guard leader?" Yang Chunqiu said, putting the wiping cloth back to the female servant's hand.

His other hand then reaches to the nanny and holds her hand as she helps Yang Chunqiu up from his seat.

"Yes, young master. This subordinate is ready to accompany you there," Yang Xuan responded after taking back his sword from one of the female servants standing in wait around the Flower Appreciating Pavilion.

"Great. Let's go," Yang Chunqiu smiled and left the Lesser Yang Courtyard, leaving only the housekeeper with the nanny and several other servants.

...

"Shadow Sun Unit Leader," Housekeeper Liang Sheng muttered softly after the nanny and the female servants had left the pavilion.

"Subordinate is here, sir." a male draped in full black attire from head to toe came out of nowhere and half kneeled before the housekeeper. He doesn't appear to be armed, but through his appearance alone, this man is likely more dangerous than those with swords wherever they go.

"You heard what the young master wanted. Go out there and get everything he requested done before today's evening. And while you're taking care of this matter, check out the Burning Spirit Sect Master's cultivation level." the housekeeper ordered.

"This subordinate understands. The Shadow Sun Unit will depart immediately and accomplish the mission," the unit leader replied and vanished from his position. It seemed like nobody was here earlier, and that was simply a gust of wind came through.

"The young master seemed a bit different today, don't you think?" Housekeeper Liang Sheng asked softly, but nobody was around him to direct his question to.

(Yes...)

Still, there's a reply coming into his ears. And from how it wasn't discovered by anyone else, this indicates that their cultivation level had reached a stage regular people wouldn't be bothered to know.

(It felt like the young master had returned to himself two years ago before he was told he was born with the Broken Meridian Physique...)

(Let's hope he would stay that way until our lord found the solution.)
