The Ice Age begins.
In the southern city of Solstice, as goose feather snow blankets the streets, the internet buzzes with varied reactions. Some people complain, others celebrate, but none realize this isn't just a temporary weather change. It's the start of a relentless cooling that will eventually lead to an unimaginable disaster.
During this time, Phoenix lounges on his sofa at home. He's in a safe house, comfortably enjoying a temperature over 30 degrees while sipping a cold Budweiser beer. Suddenly, his phone rings. It's his chat group buzzing with messages. His old classmates, neighbors, and others are all talking about the unexpected snow.
"People complaining about the cold, the ineffective heating, the sudden change in weather, and not being prepared for the winter – it's a mix of surprise and annoyance."
Phoenix, however, doesn't take the sudden change in weather seriously. He yawns, losing interest in the conversation, and returns to his warm, velvet-covered bed. His bed, a luxury item from Walmart, has a mattress reportedly worth 3 million dollars, once owned by a famous actress.
Outside, the snow continues to fall, and the wind howls. But inside, the fireplace keeps the room warm and cozy. In this comfortable setting, Phoenix quickly falls asleep.
...
The next morning, Phoenix is awakened by his phone. It's a call from Mira, disturbing him from a pleasant dream. She sounds concerned about the cold weather and mentions Phoenix's previous supply stock-up. Phoenix, feeling smug, brushes off her concern, saying he had only heard about the cooling from a friend and hadn't expected it to be so severe.
After ending the call abruptly, Phoenix goes about his morning routine. He takes a hot bath, enjoys a breakfast of top-grade A5 Wagyu beef steak with pasta, and turns on the TV. The news anchors, wearing thick down jackets, report a global temperature drop of 70 to 100 degrees Celsius. Despite their reassurances, Phoenix knows better. He's prepared for a long-term disaster, with backup power sources and enough energy supplies to last for centuries.
As he watches the news, the temperature outside drops to 65° below zero, a drastic 80° drop from the previous day's high. Phoenix, unaffected by the cold in his well-insulated, 8-million-dollar safe house, casually enjoys his breakfast.
His phone rings again. It's more messages from neighbors and Mira, now desperately asking for help and food. Phoenix, recalling how Mira had betrayed him in his previous life, decides to tease her. He sends her a photo of his lavish breakfast, pretending he has almost no supplies left, enjoying the thought of her struggling in the harsh conditions outside.
