Harold, who had been inspecting his newly crafted armor, snapped to attention and retrieved the large tower shield. The bugger had jumped in the ooze when I wasn't looking, so I decided to let him get a new armor set as well. He handed me the small buckler, but when I held it up to Lily, she just gave me a look.
"What is this little tiny thing?" She demanded, and I laughed and pressed a button. When I did, the shield expanded rapidly into a dome-like shield that could be flattened if needed.
"Meet the Protean Defender," I said, presenting the fully expanded shield to Lily.
