"Alpha- sir," Through gritted teeth she said as she lowered her head, her hand still clenching tightly unto the plate of food in her grip. "I don't understand what you mean."
Alpha Stephan stared at her for a while before turning away from her, loosing interest immediately.
There is no way someone as Ignorant as her could exude such aura as I had felt before just as I came down the stairs. I could have been clearly mistaken.
The moment he turned around to sit down, Arisa slightly raised her head, an evil knowing glint in her eyes as she followed his retreating back till he turned to sit down did she finally lower her head again in a curt bow.
She turned to leave, Stephan's gaze following her till she disappeared into the kitchen and the door shut behind her. In the kitchen, she packed Ares's food in a flask. If he couldn't eat It here, then he could just eat It earlier at school before classes begin.
As Ares alighted down the stairs, his bag hung around his shoulders, the delicious, mouth watering scent of pancakes hit his nose and his stoamch instantly grumbled.
He paused mid way the steps just to relish the delicious scent before he reluctanctly alighted the stairs only to see his parents discussing in hushed voices as they ate.
However, the moment they noticed his presence, Ravenna turned to him while Stephan resumed eating. The woman's lips curled into a smile as she noted the wistful look in her son's eyes as his gaze was settled on the pile on pancakes settled in the middle of the table.
"I can let you have one pancake at least If you can acknowledge your mistake, admit you were disrespectful and rebellious and apologize to your father."
Ares's gaze moved from the pancakes to his father who was silently eating, not even looking up at him once.
Scoffiing, loud enough to get a a reprimanding look from his mother and a glare from his father, he walked away. He headed to the kitchen, intending to find Aisha who had left his room after dressing him up to sneak him breakfast.
What he didn't know was that Ravenna had already known Aisha's tactics and had sent her to the forest with the other maids on farm duty. The pack had a large farm. The land was so big It could fit in another pack If divided in half. There, they grew corn, vegetables, cocoa and other raw materials which they exported to other under developing packs and the humans who would buy them in exchange for money or items which they themselves lacked.
As he entered the kitchen, he saw the woman who had with her her crazy blue eyed monster of a daughter yesterday and he instantly panicked as he looked around him fidgetingly, only calming down when he realized It was just both of them and Ruby wasn't in the room with them.
Wait, am I scared of her or something?
The thought of that made him angry, and his stomach rumbled. He got agitated on not seeing Aisha and just decided to head to school.
Suddenly, something was stuffed into his mouth, and his eyes widened instinctively, but he calmed down and began chewing when he realized It was a piece of sausage that had been put in his mouth with a fork.
Still chewing, relishing the sweet sensation of different favors bursting in his mouth, he looked up to see Arisa standing above him, a smirk in her emerald green eyes as she stared amusingly at him.
"Do you like It?"
He nodded without thinking and earnestly opened his mouth as she fed him again, but he grabbed the fork from her, a flustered look on his face as he mumbled after swallowing. "I can feed myself"
"Well, you don't have time to do that, and unless you want to get us both in trouble, I suggest you just take It to school. Look, I've already packed it for you."
She showed him a flask and without waiting for him to say anything, opened his bag and placed it inside before zipping it. He turned to her, giving her a suspicious glare with hardened narrow eyes that seemed to want to pierce into her soul deeper as she stared on.
"Why are you doing this?"
"What do you mean?"
She feigned Ignorance but the child before her only looked like a child. He seemed to be more wiser, smarter and mature than he looked.
"You sent Ruby up to my room with food last night and now you're doing the same thing this morning. You don't know me and I don't know you either. So why are you being so kind to me?"
"Because..." As she thought of a suitable way to reply a 7 year old boy, her voice faded off, but he still stood there, waiting for an answer. "Because your parents are unsensible jerks. I mean, who starves their son just because he spoke up about them being complete degenerates who can't make time for him and only judge him based off what they heard from other people. So maybe we don't know each other that well, and maybe your parents may have been right to punish you how they please, but I'm a mother and I can't stand to watch..."
Her voice trailed off when she heard someone stiffle a laugh and only realized the sound was coming from Ares but he quickly maintained his composure, wiping the side of his mouth as he stopped laughing just before his face resumed his usual, cold, unmoving expression. It was almost like he was allergic to smiling or laughing so having seen him with a bit of emotion to his stoic face made Arisa's heart flutter heplessly.
I didn't think he'd be this adorable when he smiled.
"No one has ever spoken to me about my parents that way. Usually, everyone seems to be on their side because they're the adults and I'm a kid. "
Arisa scoffed as she folded her arms. "You're certainly the adult in my opinion." She wanted to say something else, but decided she would be pushing it to far.
Ares on realizing his parents might be wondering why he hasn't left, turned towards the exit, a silent conflict going on his head to say something which he wouldn't normally say. By the time he had reached the exit which lead to the backyard, he turned to Arisa who was already getting busy to prepare Ruby's meal.
But his pride would not let him say a simple 'Thank you', so he just shut the door and left. It was not in him to say things like that. He felt as the Alpha's son, he wasn't entitled to thank people, apologize or be nice and polite. After all, his parents are the biggest bullies of his life and had never been nice to him so why would he do the same to people who don't even deserve it?
As a Pack guard opened the door to the limousine, they bowed to him curtly to which he ignored as he climbed into the car before settling down. The Pack guard shut the door, no surprise there as everyone knew how cold the young master was to everyone, but on hearing a startled yell from the boy inside, the Pack guards around all turned alert as one of them threw open the door.
Everyone was in panic as they knew the height of their punishment If anything happened to Master Ares. However, on opening the door and seeing Ares cramped to one side of the car like he had seen a ghost, they were all surprised to see a little girl who looked no less than four sleeping comfortably in one corner of the vehicle, her black hair falling about her like a soft satin curtain.
