Three months later...
With Lisa's arrival, it's been three months since we started the new restructuring in our city. In this time, we managed to build an entire kingdom in just three months by combining the magical and other fantastical properties of the world we found ourselves in with the technological features of our own world. At the city entrance, we opened a large square and places for shops, buildings for people to live in, workspaces, a hospital, a city hall, and even a guild hall, although we will need to speak with the people managing the guilds to get the guild hall operational. But now, instead of wooden walls, we have walls that cannot be destroyed even with a ton of aura and mana, buildings as strong as walls instead of fabric tents, and underground storages to keep perishable items like food longer. The biggest contributors to all this were Lisa and Torin. Thanks to Lisa's architectural knowledge and Torin's ability to flawlessly create whatever schematics we wanted, we were able to build this kingdom in such a short time. We also managed to make armor and weapons out of black stone for our soldiers, making us quite strong in terms of equipment. Now, we have larger fields, bigger training areas, and lots of goods to sell. For now, I plan to sell the products we get from the monster animals we breed, such as fur, milk, meat, and similar items, the products from our fields, and blacksmithing items. Of course, we won't sell any products made of black stone, and we will also collect a nominal tax from people who want to sell goods in our country or live here. This way, we will gradually strengthen our economy.
Actually, during the past three months, I thought we might be sent to a new game by the system, but it didn't happen as I thought, which may have pleased many people, but I don't have good thoughts about it. I'm worried that something big might be coming...
Lilith, Aiden, Malik, Torin, and Lisa were with me, looking at the city from its entrance. We watched children running on the stone pavements that replaced the dirt paths.
"We did it, guys. I couldn't have done this without you, thank you for everything."
Lilith: "None of this would have happened without you, you always keep your word."
Torin: "Though I hate to admit it, you're quite a determined young man."
Lisa: "Despite your stupid face, you're quite reliable."
Aiden: "You never abandon your friends."
Malik: "And you always let me eat whatever I want."
I felt a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time, was it satisfaction? Or happiness? It's like finding your favorite toy that you lost as a child years later and diving into memories, this moment feels like that. I want this feeling to never disappear...
"We will succeed, guys. We will be together and survive."
Lilith held my hand.
Lilith: "We will always be by your side too."
I looked at Lilith and smiled.
Torin: "Enough with the sentimentality, I'm going back to my forge."
Torin turned his back and headed towards his forge.
Lisa: "I need some rest too, luckily I had a bathhouse built in this city."
Lilith: "Maybe I should rest a bit too, the bath sounds good."
Lisa and Lilith went to rest together.
Malik: "I could use some food now, all this talking made me hungry."
"I have something to show you."
Malik: "To me?"
Aiden: "Now I'm curious too, what are you going to show?"
I took Malik and Aiden to one of the biggest and most beautiful shops on the street with the shops.
"Here we are."
Malik: "What is this? Is there food inside?"
"I hope there will be soon, this is yours."
Malik: "Mine?"
"You always said you wanted to open a restaurant back in the world, didn't you? The shop is empty now, but I've told Torin to make kitchen equipment, dining tables, chairs, and other things, so it will soon be a full-fledged restaurant."
Aiden: "Wow, at least now you can cook your own food when you're hungry."
"Try not to eat the customers' food, haha."
Malik was silent for a moment.
"Hey buddy, are you okay?"
Suddenly, Malik hugged me and Aiden so tightly we almost suffocated, reminding us of old memories.
Malik: "GUYS, THANK YOU!"
Malik was crying and shouting too much.
"It's okay, buddy, I'd do anything for you, just please let me go."
Struggling to breathe due to Malik's tight hug,
Aiden: "Let us go, you big bear! I think my arm is broken."
Malik let us go and sniffled.
Malik: "Thanks, guys, really."
Aiden: "What about my gift? Are you guys excluding me?"
"I have a gift for you too."
Aiden: "What, really?"
I extracted a sword from my ring by channeling some mana into it. This sword was specially made by Torin for Aiden. It was made of black metal, with shiny stone inlays and a handle made of animal hide, a flashy sword.
Aiden: "Wow, this is awesome, buddy!"
"I know you like flashy things, so I wanted to give you this gift."
Aiden: "You know me well, buddy, thank you."
Malik: "Well then, guys, I'll prepare a delicious meal for you tonight!"
After all the city renewal work, I was quite tired too and decided it would be good to rest a bit, continuing to walk around the city and watch. I lay down under a tree on a small hill inside the city, feeling the cool breeze on my face, and started reading one of the books I bought from the merchant in the second game. Although I hadn't had much time to read, I had already finished two of them, providing me with a wealth of deep knowledge and useful information on topics like warfare, agriculture, mining, and governance. As I read, I drifted off to sleep without realizing it.
"Ah, I think I fell asleep. Has it already become evening? We were supposed to eat something at Malik's restaurant today, I better hurry."
As I descended from the top, I started heading down to Malik's restaurant. When I approached the restaurant, I noticed the lights coming from inside. Looking through the restaurant's window, I saw a massive table and lots of chairs inside, allowing us to dine, and the table was completely filled with dishes. Everyone had already arrived at the table. Lilith, Lisa, Torin, and Aiden were sitting at the table chatting, while Malik was continuously bringing something to the table. Torin was complaining about something again, and Lisa was explaining how stupid and ugly I was. Aiden was trying to mess with Malik and tease him, while Lilith was happily sitting, chatting, and laughing with everyone. I entered through the door and everyone looked at me.
Aiden: "And His Majesty has finally arrived!"
Torin: "You finally made it! This girl kept nagging about not starting the meal until you arrived."
Lisa: "Guess someone actually likes you."
Malik came from the kitchen with a large tray in his hands.
Malik: "After all, isn't she our beloved queen?"
"You're right, I couldn't manage this kingdom alone without her."
Lisa: "Is that all you're going to say? Be a bit romantic, you fool!"
Lilith was smiling at me.
"And you mean a lot to me too, I'm glad you're here."
Lilith blushed.
"I-I mean, you all mean a lot to me, let's eat!"
I sat down at the head of the table, with Lilith on my right, and Torin next to her. On my left were Lisa, and next to her, Aiden. The chair directly across was empty, waiting for Malik to sit.
Malik placed the tray in the center of the table.
Malik: "Is everyone ready for tonight's best dish?"
Malik counted down from three and excitedly lifted the lid of the tray.
Malik: "Apple Pie!"
Everyone looked at the dessert in the middle in surprise.
Aiden: "Dude..."
Torin: "This guy must really be an animal or something."
Lisa: "WHY DID YOU EAT HALF OF THE PIE?!"
Malik: "Got a bit hungry, hehe."
Lisa: "DON'T 'HEHE' YOU DAMN FOOL."
The situation was so funny to me that I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Then everyone looked at me and we all started laughing together.
"HAHAHAHAHA…"
And that's how we ended the night, later everyone went to their new homes in the city, of course, we all lived on the same street. And even though we had built new homes, Lilith was still staying with me, probably because she had gotten used to it. Now we had soft beds filled with animal wool and a house that felt warm with four walls around us. Lilith and I lay in bed and covered ourselves.
"You know, you can stay at your own place if you want."
Lilith: "I am, my home is you."
Somehow, I was happy to hear that, our hands touching under the sheet we were covered with. I held Lilith's hand and said;
"Then I will happily continue to be your home."
Lilith looked at me with happy and surprised eyes.
"What, did I say something wrong?"
Lilith, with a huge smile and excitement, suddenly jumped on me.
"Stop Lilith! What are you doing, Stop, NO MY YOUTH!"
Luckily, I managed to survive until the morning...
In the morning, I went to deal with the city's affairs with the goblins and lizardmen, dividing some trolls for door security, some goblins for lookout, some lizardmen for city security, and the remaining goblins, lizardmen, and trolls for other jobs and the military. Now we had a constantly operating and secure city.
There were a few things left to do, first, I would talk to the Lirius family to start trading with our country and announce their trade with us, officially recognizing us as a country, they owed me, so they would do it. Also, I would talk to King Charles to officially recognize our country and become our ally, which he would probably accept after a short surprise, and then I would need to prepare more for the upcoming game and wait for the news from the elf kingdom…
"Alright, let's go to the city and talk to this rich family and the king!"
