On a road that ran through some woodlands not used often by people a caravan moved steadily as a Phoenix flew above them watching for any dangers if you looking closely you could see people on its back not bothered by the winds sitting comfortable enjoying the view

a round of gasps and rabel made erupted in the small gathered group surprised by our appearance they probably thought I would be a dwarve taking a look at the gathered people i saw almost all were Dwarves except a human male and little girl everyone looked like they were near the point of starving ..... Collectively the group parted for a old Dwarven lady to make her way to me using a stone crane " may I young lord I'm the only one that can read here "
Honestly I had forgotten most people can't read or write their languages ' maybe I should try and fix that' the old lady smiled at Emily who smiled back before taking the letter reaching into her little handmade bag she had on her hip she pulled out a small stone that was hallowed out on the middle putting it to her eye she began reading the letters contents
" .....what will happen to us all that were already here if I may ask " she asked handing the letter back to me without questioning it
" we're not here to make any of you leave unless that what you want we are just trying to make a true home for our family all i ask is you have a little faith that we can make your lives and this place better"
Nodding the old woman turned towards the crowd " Alright you heard him everyone he his our new lord now get back to what you were doing so they can do what they need too " not sure what to do everyone began talking to each other " but the- " a male dwarve tried to speak up but the lady cut him off
" they have done nothing to hurt us their is no reason to throw a fit over land we can't even properly use let's give them a chance to make things better we don't have much to lose " the group continued talking for a minute before finally breaking up to do what they needed for the day
Seeing everyone go about their day I thanked the old lady " don't thank me yet this place is a mess it will take a lot to get it in order " with that she left towards a nearby barley put together shack a younger dwarve seemingly a bit older then me help her there
Getting back in the carriage we continued onward to the castle " I want to set up a food station for them everyday so they aren't starving anymore " Elise looked at me with a raised brow " that would put a big dent in our food supplies"
" I know but they are our people now right isn't our job to take care of them and find a way to fix the food issue "
Leaning in she kissed my cheek " this is another reason I love you most would not care or worry about themselves first but you worry about those who are suffering even if their not human " smiling she skillful took Emily from me
" don't worry about we will get this place in order soon enough I swear after all I was raised to rule over a kingdom " feeling a bit better about helping the people here I closed my eyes enjoying the rest of the way to the castle
" wow I never thought I would see this my dad use to talk about this place " a female dwarve named melte she was one of the gemsmiths the king sent said with excitement as we all looked at the castle
it looked like it took architecture from all three races it was in a medieval style but built with gems and rock which had all sorts of plant growth all over it but it didn't take away from the building only added to it like it was purposely put there thought they obviously could use a trimming up
The only bad part was the castle wasn't fully finished sections of walls were still missing along with a parts of the roof and floors some rock that fell over the decades destroyed bits of it as well but all an all it was still salvageable
Curious I asked what she knew about this place " not to much honestly just what I remember from my dad apparently a few decades ago a noble moved out here he hired my dad to work on this castle with a few other craftsmen from different races he always said it was one of his best works sadly they never got to finish it the Noble ran out of money and recourses before the construction was completed it always bothered my father that he never got to finish it honestly I'm excited to pick up were he left off "
" how fast can you get it suitable for us to stay in " I asked melte since it didn't look to damaged " hmm few hours maybe I won't fully know until I see what needs to be done "

smiling I looked at Elise who just shrugged her shoulders " you can...but be gentle " with that I teleported to a certain shop with a grumpy owner
"I already told you no I have it nice here why would I travel to some unknown place where I would get less business just because she asked it's not worth it " that was the first thing I heard as I appeared I guess Amelia was trying to get him to come with her to our new home
