Suddenly the dwarve next to roak slammed his fist on the stone table causing it to crack as he stood up with his gems glowing a bright red" why did the king send a human as a replacement "
Sighing The dwarve across from me gave the one who hit the table a stern look " calm down lendel if the king sent him it must be for a good reason " grumbling lendel sat back down Taking a breath the dwarve then turned to look at me and introduced everyone pointing to each one as he did
"I'm xada,the grumpy one is lendel,you already know roak and finally the quiet one is dreksl welcome to our ranks " after he introduced everyone I took as a sign to introduce myself
"You can call me ghost i was asked to come here by the king to help with the dark-swarm situation and put an end to it if I can I also came here with two others they will be a great help when the time comes"
" your terrible at this " i heard the demon say it had been a while since I heard anything from it but I choose to ignore it and focused on the Dwarves " you brought more outsiders " lendel said more angry then before staring holes into my head
Xada opened his mouth but just then the whole room shook causing small rocks and dust to fall taking a quick look at each other we collectively decided to hold this meeting later as we rushed out the room and out the building along the way I noticed the Dwarves take glances at Elise and James, Elise more-so because of her appearance
As soon as we got outside xada threw his two-handed hammer that was on his back at a incoming rock shattering it to pieces before it could hit the building " damn another attack already deal with those launchers quickly " he said as he grabbed his hammer which landed not far away from him
Without another word we took of towards the fortress walls when we got to the top I got a good look at the creature that threw the rock
It was a giant hunched over humanoid with four arms and black chitin like exoskeleton cover it they held a rock in each arm and used there second set of arms to enhance there throwing power
" well this wasn't what I was expecting " I said as the roar of cannons on the wall spread around the area but the giant creatures just shrugged off the cannon balls like nothing although the smaller creatures around it were hit hard
" if your scared of this little attack you should go back to the surface...boy " smiling I looked at lendel " who said I was scared " grabbing my staff I extended the blades and imbued it with lightning as James took a knee readying his rifle and I pulled down my mask
" dont go to crazy im not sure what i can do aganist there armor " using everything I had
I threw my staff blade first at one of the giant dark-swarm nailing it between it's four eyes cracking the chitin there causing it to roar in pain " I'll try " I said as I teleported to my staff the other warden commanders just looked on stunned
" tough bastard aren't you " I remarked as I struggled to hold onto my staff lightning started gathering around before discharging all around me kill the creature and some dark-swarm on the ground near it

Back on the wall the commanders watch stunned as the rocker a dark-swarm they would have trouble taking down fall in less then a few seconds
Smiling xada looked at lendel " I knew the king wouldn't have sent him without a good reason I suggest you be nicer or you may turn out like that dark-swarm " lendel didn't say anything still shocked by what he saw
Looking back at the rest of the commanders he told them to spread out and order the cannons to stop firing so they don't accidentally hit there new commander " you don't have to do that " confused they looked over at Elise " my husband will be fine just support him the best you guys can "
Before lendel said anything roak slapped his back " just keep quiet " ignoring them Elise tapped her foot on the wall causing a giant magic circle to appear and ice to spread across the entire wall reinforcing it while giving the cannons and rifleman a better view of the enemy the firing stop foe a moment from the confusion before resuming " see " roak said shocked once again by what he is seeing
After coming too the commanders spead across the wall to give orders and support were they could on the edge of the wall Elise looked out towards her husband as James fired near by " do overdo it my love but if you do I'll always be here" she whispered as her ice spear materialized in her hand and got into a throwing position

I teleported between the giant dark-swarm using my staff as an anchor to teleport too doing as much damage as I can to the enemy ' man this is a bit tiring ' I thought as I finished off my third big guy holding onto my staff as it toppled over getting a bad feeling I quickly turned around after stabilizing myself
Just as I did a projectile whistled past me slamming into one of the smaller dark-swarm that managed to catch me off guard with a loud crunch stunning it
I swear I could hear James click his tongue from here in announce using the opening I killed the dark-swarm around me quickly before teleporting too the next big guy as I appeared ready to strike a giant hand appeared to squash me but before it could a spear of ice hit it knocking it away
Smiling I used the chance Elise gave me to quickly kill the giant dark-swarm as I went to throw my staff to the next one the last two turned to escape back to the tunnel they entered the cavern through they were followed by the smaller dark-swarm Before I could follow them into the tunnel a ice-spear landed in front of me
clicking my tongue I turned around teleporting back to the wall when I appeared covered in purple blood I was a little shocked to see the place covered in ice and the Dwarves cheering " wow didn't think you had it in you " roak said patting my back as some Dwarves gathered around
" Alright that's enough hurry up and take a squad down and block the entrance to the cavern again " xada commanded putting a stop to the little celebration " yes sir " the Dwarves saluted with a hand behind their backs and the other curled around their hearts then made there way down the wall I followed behind to try and help Elise came with followed by James
As we moved towards the tunnel roak slowed down a little to come next to us " you still don't fully understand what is happening do you " I shook my head at him " no not really " taking a deep breath roak gave a quick explanation of the situation
" two months ago the dark-swarm attack all our strongholds at once overwhelming us to the point that this is the last one up until that point it had been a stalemate for centuries so we were caught of guard by there sudden spike in forces we lost most of our forces in the attack the only reason we haven't be overwhelmed here are these crystals " he pointed to the ground were tiny blue crystals we Embedded
" they are very rare but they disrupt the dark-swarm's collective mind making them less coordinated lucky the previous king had the foresight to gather them all here as a last defense thanks to it we have been able to slowly rebuild our forces here but we haven't been able to make much of a dent in there numbers but thanks to you that might start changing"
When we got to the tunnel the Dwarves broke off into groups some moved the corpses while another group started dismantling the bigger ones as that was going on another slightly bigger group was at the entrance to the tunnel doing what they can to block it by using there elements or just simply stacking rocks on top of each other
not wanting to just stand around I did what I could to help them and with Elise's help we were able to seal the tunnel quickly and securely using her ice and water elements James on the other hand begrudgingly help move and butcher the corpses of the dark-swarm
After an hour we were both about done with our receptive jobs " I take back my first thoughts about you " roak said as he looked at the reinforced tunnel and the pile of butchered corpses smiling I turned back towards the fortress making my way towards it " I've never been good at first impressions
