Elise frowned hearing me " go see your grandparents for a minute I'm sure they will be happy to see you ok " she said to Emily who nodded before leaving the room then Elise turned back to me" where is this coming from " she asked looking at me with concern I let out a deep sigh " it's just some looks I got from the beastmen when I got Emily I saw genuine fear in there eyes when I looked at them it was a bit hard to see from people I would consider allies " I said looking down
Elise put her hand under my chin slowly raising it " my love you are not a monster even if what you do is extreme at time you are a good person but eventually with the way you can be it was inevitable that there would be fear in people who see you fight you are much stronger then most but if it bothers you then make sure they know they nothing to fear from you" while she's saying this she pulled me into a hug
" Plus I will never fear you know matter what you do I'll always stand by you my love " Elise said while hugging me
We stayed embraced for a little bit I looked up at her " thank you Elise " she smiled at me like she usually does then grabbed my hand to lead me out when we got outside the room shadow appeared not far away with his head down " are you ok " I asked him concerned he was hurt from what happened but he just said in a low voice " I'm sorry for not being there to protect you I'm supposed to be your guardian but I have failed in that " I knew that he might feel that way when I was forcefully teleported and captured by the emperor he cut my connection to mana which meant he couldn't appear from my shadow or anywhere nearby because it cut our connection too
I let go of Elise's hand and walked over to shadow I started petting his head " shadow you have nothing to be sorry for you always do the best you can with the situations I get myself in and If you truly want to protect me protect Elise and our daughter because they are the reasons I want to live don't be down because of what happened your doing a great job in my opinion " I wasn't sure if that helped him feel better I hope so but I've never been good with word
" come on let's go get some food I'm hungry " I held Elise's hand again as we made our way to the dining room Emily should be there with the elven king and queen when we got to the dining room doors Elise's parents were there the queen was holding Emily she smiled seeing us " how are you feeling is your chest bothering you " she came over asking Elise
Elise smiled " I'm feeling much better now that my husband is back " the queen and king were happy to see her feeling better as we walked into the dining room and started to eat Elise and I were starving the last time I had a proper meal was right before being captured I find it a bit funny my body went back to how it was before being caught after taking control back from the demon
I swear it was the best food I ever had I completely devoured the plate in front of me without really realizing it when I was done I looked at Elise who was looking at me with a bit of sadness "what" I asked her a bit confused she just shook her head and wiped a bit of food of my lips with a cloth " nothing my love can you feed me it still hurts to move to much " I nodded my head " of course sorry I should have thought of that "
I moved my chair right next to her and started to feed her gently I have to say it was kind of pleasant I found it oddly peaceful " I have to say I'm really enjoying having my arm's and legs back I didn't realize how much I missed touching things " I said after feeding her a few times without really thinking Elise lowered her head a bit " I'm sorry I couldn't get to you sooner " she said in a low broken voice I know hurt her to see me like that
I shook my head " my love I know you did all you could it's not your fault I ended up like that you have nothing to be sorry for " I wiped away the tear that was falling down her face and gave her a quick kiss on the lips " what happened to you two over there " the king asked wanting to know why we are acting like this I looked at him then the queen who had Emily still " James...kal " I yelled for them to come in I knew they were outside they entered instantly and bowed " what do you need my king " James was the one who spoke as usual
I looked at them " take our daughter to the garden for a little bit please " I looked at shadow " can you go can watch her too " I asked him and he nods I didn't want him to feel worse shadow went over to the queen
" hop on little dragon you heard your him" Emily to one last Bite before flapping her wings a little to land gently on his back they started to leave after that
She has always been a very obedient little girl and she is very good at reading a room for her age I think she is much smarter then she wants us to believe Elise and I talked about once and decided to just play along we think she just wants to have a normal childhood and be a bit spoiled after watching them leave I turned back too the king and queen to start explaining what happened
" what the fuck is wrong with you why would you antagonize him did you ever care about getting to me in one piece " Elise yelled at me standing up like she wanted to slap me again after hearing me explain what happened to me I stood up too and gently put my hand on her chest as a little magic circle appeared on the back of my hand " please calm down Elise of course I did the thought of getting to see you and emily again was what kept me from going completely insane during that whole time I admit it wasn't the best thing to do but make no mistake my thoughts were always on you or our daughter "
Elise took a deep breath " I married a idiot " she said before sitting down again I chuckle hearing her knowing she still loves me I turned back to the king and queen they had a neutral expression on there faces " we are glad you are fine now but that doesn't explain what appeared here or why my daughter has a severe wound to one of her hearts"
" well as you may have guessed a battle happened while I was bleeding out Elise eventually makes it to me but the emperor ambushed her my wife being the badass she is sensed it but he had quirk or artifact that stops attacks under a certain power so it caught her of guard and he stabbed her before leaving her to bleed out so me watching Elise still trying to get to me I was angry I couldn't do anything because I had my mana still blocked and no arms or legs I saw her struggle until I thought she died and that broke me my greatest fear is losing the one I love most I may not fear death but I fear Elise's"
I took a deep breath before continuing " after everything went black I found myself not far from a chained demon The one you probably have seen and we made a deal he can take control but he has to kill the emperor after that I'm not sure next thing I remember is hearing Elise voice and waking up next to her with my body back to how it was"
