I knew from the beginning that she would be overwhelmed with fear. I knew she was scared and blamed me for her current state. After we arrived home, I held our baby in my hands. She refused to hold the baby and locked herself in her room. I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next. I felt like it was all my fault, but I never asked to be this way. I was born like this.
I gazed at the baby as he peacefully slept. I loved my child, and no matter what, I would always love him, even if he looked like a beast like me. I walked over to my room and gently laid him down on the bed. Going to Sierra's room would be pointless because she would never allow the child near her.
After some time of watching the baby, I went downstairs and sat on the couch, contemplating what to do. How could I make her see that looks don't matter? We were now a family, and we should be happy.
