Andrew..
"Mom, please stop," I say as we both walk into the room and she sits down on the bed.
"Mom, you have to stop, you really have to."
She looks up at me, and I can see the pain in her eyes. I wasn't even talking to Auntie Sierra; she just asked a question, that's all.
"Mom, I'm sorry. I promise I will not talk to her again."
My mom looks at me, and as she tries to stand, I hold her hands and stop her.
"Mom, why are you angry? I am sorry, Mom, please."
She keeps staring at me as she places her hands on mine and smiles.
"Don't ever hurt Mommy again, okay?"
I nod and smile, standing up as I stare at her.
"Are you hungry? I will go get you some food."
She nods, and I smile, just as I turn around about to leave the room, I hear my mom's voice.
"Don't ever listen to what Sierra says, no matter what. She isn't a nice person who tells the truth or keeps promises."
