The expression on his face and the way he held me tightly scared me. "Let me go, Lexi, you're hurting me," I pleaded. I looked into his eyes and saw the anger burning within them. Why was he so angry? I should be the one angry, considering I almost got killed.
"Where did you go?" he kept asking, his grip tightening. With all my strength, I managed to pull my hands away. "You said you would never be like this again. Is this the change you promised? I hate you."
As I turned to walk away, he pulled me back and before I knew it, I felt a sharp slap across my face. "I should be the one saying that. You have no right to speak when I ask a question. Tell me, did you go to see him?"
I looked at him in shock, tears streaming down my cheeks. Did I make a mistake by giving him a second chance? I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.
