Sierra pov.
As we ran, we found ourselves face to face with the gate. Just as Mia was about to shout, I gently halted her.
"What if they spot me? They'll never allow me through the gate. What should we do?"
I felt so frightened at the thought that if the villagers saw me, they'd try to expel me and prevent my entry.
After a moment of gazing at Mia, she suddenly spoke with concern in her voice.
"So, what's your plan? You know, if he wakes up and we're still here, he's going to kill us."
I was at a loss for words; I simply couldn't find the right thing to say.
"You're right. He'll harm us, and not just that, he'll track us down and end us. If we want to survive, we must journey far away to another town and conceal ourselves there."
I could see the look on her face when I said that. I knew she wanted to go back home so badly, but I didn't want her to die because of me.
