My mother gave a weary sigh, like she was tired of how the world worked against women in this world. "But after we joined university, both me and Olivia constantly got targeted by the other boys in college who constantly pestered us, asking for a date or wanting to be our boyfriends...Some even went as far as to ask our hand in marriage and propose to us in public, which was always a nightmare to deal with."

My mother shook her head, like she didn't want to bring up those torturous memories.
