After a while of walking, Anastasia and I had found ourselves outside of the town and in an open field of some sort. I guess here's where the Slimes are then...?
There's literally no one around this area, although it's outside of the town. Well, I guess people don't usually use this entrance very often.
Although there were some Knights guarding the entrance we used to exit the town, people doesn't seem to be using it often. I only saw some merchants coming through this entrance. Sorry for not specifying which gate, I am not good with telling directions.
"Wow! This scene is beautiful!" Anastasia explained.
"Yeah, it's truly a wonderful sight." I couldn't help but to admire the sight before my eyes.
The place where we had come to hunt for slimes was a vast open field that has small grass, and with small hills scattered throughout the area. It was right out of a picture you'd see on the internet or in an art museum.
And there were lots of slimes of all sizes and colors hopping around in the field. It was a beautiful sight.
Yeah, this is truly a fantasy world alright. It have the scenes to go with the vibe. But why does every beautiful things and places in these situations in anime and manga have to be connected to some form of monsters.
I didn't know what to say in that moment, I was just lost for words. Besides, i kind of expected something like this either way.
"It's a beautiful scene. I wish if we could take the time to relax more and look at the scene more."
Anastasia gave me a look of that she knows what we have to do now. If we didn't have to hunt slimes, then we would probably have a picnic in the field.
"...."
"Don't worry about anything, Anastasia. When we go back to the town, I'll buy you something." I tried to calm her down.
We hid in a nearby bush that was close to a group of slimes that was just hanging out. I waited for the slimes to drop their guard and then strike.
This is going to be really easy... I just need five slimes to complete this quest, and then Anastasia and I can rrelax.
I took out the couple of knives that I bought earlier from the weapons shop back in town. I aimed one at a random slime and throw it at the slime. I couldn't believe that I hit it from the distance that I was.
I then proceeded to do the same thing to the other slimes. All of them disintegrated and disappeared, leaving a bunch of beautiful looking stones laying on the ground.
"We're done with the quest! Let's return to the guild to receive our reward." I exclaimed with excitement, as I rushed to pick up all of the stones that the slimes dropped.
To be honest, this feels like some sort of video game...
"Yeah, let's go!" Anastasia nodded and we made our way back to the guild.
"Welcome back, Sir Kyle and lady Anastasia! I hope you guys are doing well!" The receptionist greeted us.
"Yeah, we're finished collecting the stones from the slimes."
When we returned, the guild was all most empty. It seems that the other Adventurers had gone on their quests.
"I can see that you have finished with your quest, so may I see what you have got?"
"Ah, sure. I can."
I handed all of the stones over to the receptionist. She stared at it, trying to analyze it.
Huh...? Is she using an Appraisal skill of some sort? Hmm... well, that ain't got anything to do with me!
"Unn, I see." The receptionist woman said while she analyze the stones that we brought back.
She reached under the desk and took out a pouch and put it on the table in front of us.
"Here. This is 15 silver coins for completing the quest. If you want, you can check it to make sure it's correct."
It was shocking to me that she didn't bring up the fact that we finished the quest really early. Especially when we didn't struggle to find where they were hiding.
We finished up with the guild and I bought Anastasia some local street food and continued with our day. Afterwards, we went back to the inn and went to our room without eating dinner, because we were took tired. At least that was the case for me.
"Tomorrow, I'll probably go check out the Knights or something..."
"Hahaha, you're really moving up in the world, huh Kyle? Please don't die as yet.."
