The second day of the Ranking Game has begun.
Alex did not include the participants yesterday, but since today is the last day, he will undoubtedly fight.
Every Okie Dokie Literature Club member selects the battle category.
Remy won.
Harvey won.
Samantha won the first battle, but she lost the second.
Alex felt no pressure because, win or lose, they were going to finish third in the club category.
Many students joined popular clubs such as sports and hunting clubs, so their club has no chance of making the top ten because the club category is determined by how many club members are in the top 10, top 20, and top 50.
This is why the magical research club is currently in first place, Forever Mage's Club is in second place, and Okie Dokie Literature Club is in third place, as their club members are few, and if nothing changes, this club ranking will be the outcome.
However, being the top club is merely an honorary title with a few benefits.
What matters is the individual ranking, as being in the top ten in their year can increase their power with the rewards listed by the faculty.
Today Alex will face two battles.
Only a few students remain who have not yet battled, but everyone is eagerly anticipating the final.
Harvey and Remy won their second battle, just as the couple had predicted.
After a few rounds, Alex finally gets his turn.
Everyone is instantly enthralled by Alex's beauty as soon as he steps into the arena, even straight men start to doubt their own tastes.
…
In the arena, somewhere...
"Now I see what he meant: If there is a goal, there is a hole."
A student accidentally said it was a little loud, and everyone who heard him wanted to leave, but they could not because they wanted to watch.
Meanwhile, the student has been approached by a friend, whom he had previously avoided because he thought he was gay.
"Comrade"
"Comrade"
They shake hands, as if they know what the other is thinking, and silently agree.
Meanwhile, everyone in the area decided to ignore this gay couple and watch the arena as the next participant was introduced.
Rene Geryea is supposed to be an ordinary student from an ordinary town, but Alex senses this four-eyed guy's bloodlust.
"Seriously, were guys with glasses always supposed to look smart?"
Alex muttered to himself, perplexed by what he had said.
He did not bother to consider why the four-eyed guy was leaking his bloodlust.
The announcer finally begins the battle.
"My turn! Draw!"
"Wait a minute!"
"What?"
"Are you using cards to summon?"
"Is it not obvious?"
Alex has the urge to punch this guy, but he decides to hold back for the time being.
He can defeat him whenever he wants, so he might as well keep everything entertaining.
"I apologize for interrupting you, but where did you find those cards?"
Alex spoke as he pointed to the cards.
Rene suddenly recalls his childhood and begins talking nonstop, and Alex has no plan to stop him.
"This? This is something my grandfather gave me when I was younger."
…
Rene is just an ordinary young boy, but his grandfather gave him one last gift before dying.
He has no idea what kind of gift he received from his grandfather, and while crying on his grandfather's deathbed, he claims that being with him is a better gift than these cards.
That was the last time he cried aloud, and a few years later, he remembered his grandfather and decided to open his childhood toys, which had been stored in the attic.
Blocks, balls, and many childhood toys brought back memories of when he was still playing with them.
…
"Wait!"
"Why? My story is not over yet!"
"We are in a battle, remember?"
"Oh, yeah..."
"…"
"…"
*Boom
Rene is on the floor, seeing birds flying through his vision as Alex blows imaginary smoke into his fist.
Alex defeated his opponent with just one punch.
The audience is surprised at how quickly it ends, but the winner has been announced, and they have no choice.
Nonetheless, Alex was able to make it entertaining, giving it the appearance of a skit.
As time passes, the event nears its conclusion.
Alex easily won his second battle, while Remy and Harvey prepare for their final battle.
If they win their final battle, they will move into the top three of the individual rankings.
Unfortunately, Harvey did not win his final battle, nor did Remy; however, the club ranking has been determined.
Whether Alex wins or not, their club will be ranked third.
Alex wanted to lose on purpose because he does not want to be outstanding and finished first in the first year's individual ranking.
Fate, in some ways, helps him.
While waiting in the waiting area, Alex notices that the place is too dark and empty.
Regardless, he entered without fear.
The door he entered closed, and he heard a locking sound, but he did not look back.
Someone on the outside appears to have been waiting for him to enter, and when Alex did, the person immediately ran to lock the door.
Alex could not see anyone in his surroundings, but it could be someone who uses magic to stealth.
Alex closed his eyes, engulfed in darkness.
He can see in the dark, but it will look cool if he closes his eyes, like in a movie about three kids who learned karate with their grandfather.
Alex sensed a movement.
With instinct, he draws his double dagger and blocks the attack.
As they exchanged attacks, there was a flash of sparks that brightened the area.
Every swing the assassin makes always targets his weak point.
Unfortunately, the assassin failed to hit any of it.
As the battle continued, Alex was able to defeat the assassin.
He wanted to know what this assassin could do, but he was disappointed and simply killed him.
He already knew who was behind the attack, so he did not ask the assassin any questions.
As expected, he is still not used to killing someone because he was about to vomit but was able to stop himself, but if he does not kill the assassin, the person may target his acquaintance, friends, and family, so it is not about whether the person deserves to live, but whether he can kill the assassin.
