Chapter 135 - Ranking Game 1

Everyone in the grand hallway is waiting for the headmaster to arrive.

It takes too long, so everyone starts talking to each other.

A sudden burst of mana disrupts the atmosphere, and they become fascinated as they watch a woman slowly fall onto the stage.

White hair and blue eyes.

This is the first thing you will notice about this woman.

Yukihime.

No one knows her full name but everyone calls her a snow princess when she was young.

She might look young, about the early 20's but in truth, she's already 80 years old.

Power is everything and when it comes to preserving the beauty of something or someone, power can also be involved.

Alex felt a heavy feeling, as if he were slowly stomping his body while Yukihime spoke on stage.

"Are you okay?"

Harvey, who was next to him, noticed the change in his face.

"I am fine, I think."

"Do you want to go to the infirmary?"

"I am fine. Thanks."

"Just tell me if something is wrong, okay? After all, we are friends."

"…"

Alex just stared at him.

"How can you tell something so embarrassing without any reaction?"

Harvey doesn't know what he is talking about so he thinks for a second, recalling what he said earlier and then he realizes how embarrassing his words are.

"…Become strong to survive!"

Yukihime's speech finally ended.

Now, the main event is about to start.

Unfortunately or fortunately, Yukihime continue to talk.

"Anyway, let's start the event. Monday and Tuesday will be the 3rd year, Wednesday and Thursday will be the 2nd year, and first year will be on Friday and Saturday. As usual, the finals will take place in the morning on Sunday, with the ball beginning in the evening as the closing ceremony."

"2nd years and 1st years are not allowed to go out of the school until the end of the event for the sake of fairness. Well, we already received the papers that your parents agreed to let you stay within a week in the dormitory so there's no need for me to talk more. 3rd years go to your clubs and get ready."

Alex was slightly disappointed that he would not be able to fight right away.

Harvey sighs, relieved that he can still prepare his heart for the battle.

Anyway, now that the assembly is over, they head to their clubroom.

Because the ranking game will begin about an hour later, they can still gather for a few minutes to talk before returning to their dorm.

After an hour, the ranking game finally begins.

For this event, the school allows other students to monitor the participants via the communication orb, or they can simply go to the underground training facility, where a large arena has existed since the school's founding.

Alex is sitting on a sofa in the dormitory hallway with other students, watching the events of the third year.

As expected, the announcer for the event is from the newspaper club.

The girl's voice is overly exciting about what is going on, and it makes viewers eager for more duels.

Ranking Game might be a club or group game but you can only fight individually.

This is the reason why the ranking in the ranking game is not a club status but an individual status.

To put it simply, if Alex wins, Alex wins, not the literature club; however, if more than one or all of the club members are in the top ten, the Okie Dokie literature club wins as well.

Two days have passed, and the fight is becoming more interesting as the third year approaches the end of their turn.

The second year begins their turn on the following day.

Everything is hyped up, just like in the third year.

Fights are too intense, and some school idols are cheered on by their fan club, which adds to the excitement in the arena.

After two days, the winner was determined, and it is now the first year's turn.

Friday.

Okie Dokie Literature Club.

"I'm sorry!"

Samantha bowed in front of everyone.

"Do not worry about it; we will win next time!"

Remy lightened the mood.

"Remy's right. There is still another event, and our turn is not over, so you can count on us."

Harvey decided to help Remy cheer up Samantha.

Samantha maintains the same emotionless expression, but the atmosphere she creates is different.

Fortunately, their words lighten the mood, and Samantha's emotionless face shows a slight smile.

"Do not worry, we were not expecting you to win."

Alex bluntly expressed what was on his mind.

He is currently writing a report that he intends to give to their club adviser later, so he is unaware that no one is listening to him and does not care if anyone is.

The reason no one listens is because the couple saw enlightenment in Samantha's smile.

They realize there is some sort of impact because a smile appears on her lips.

They appear to be illuminated by a flashing light.

Anyway, the battle was about to begin, so they decided to pack up and prepare.

Entering the arena, the crowd is mostly made up of third and second year students, as only half of the first years will be fighting today.

The ranking game is a fight in which a student believes in what category he or she excels, and everyone looks forward to this battle because first years always show something new each year.

The announcement went up, and the battle began.

Each of the clubs has its own room in the waiting room.

They decided to watch in the communication orb while waiting their turn.

Harvey is becoming nervous, while Remy assures him that he can do his best.

Remy appears calm, but she is also nervous; however, when she looks at Harvey, her nervousness disappears.

One of the reasons she falls in love with him is the ease she feels when she is with him.

Alex is still Alex, reading a book rather than watching the fights.

He is been watching since the first day and decided to read until his turn came up.

"Wait, are you allowed here?"

Alex realized that someone was not supposed to be there.

Samantha is in her second year, so she has already completed her turn, but she still decided to visit them.

"It is fine, so do not worry!"

"…"

"…"

Alex and Samantha exchanged a brief stare.

Alex chose not to inquire further and instead waited for his turn.
