Abandoned Warehouse, Outskirts of the Lunar Country.
Four people wearing black hoods are conversing.
"Our contacts have died."
"How is that even possible?"
"According to the investigator I paid, they burn alive."
"Do you know if they sing everything they know about us?"
"I am not sure what happened, but I sent a few people to find the people responsible for their deaths. If they are aware of our existence, we must silence them as soon as possible.
"Good. So, is this all you wanted to talk about?"
"Hey, Aleister. Mind your manners. Do not remove your hood during meetings. We already exempted you from laying on the boxes, but you are still trying to test my patience."
"What are you worried about? We are the only people around here, and if there is someone, we can silence them as soon as they try to spy on us."
"I am not referring to those ants. We are talking about THEM."
"You are too tight… This is their order, so they will not punish us, so calm down."
"So, Alastor, are you just going to go silent?"
Taking off his hood, a man with a long ear and blonde hair appears, resembling Aleister's face.
"You—"
"See? Even my brother agrees with me."
The man is too angry to say anything, so he walks away to calm down.
Everyone sighs at how tense that man is.
They could not blame him, though.
After all, he wanted to see his daughter again, so he wanted to end things as soon as possible.
The other person wearing the hood sits in one of the boxes.
"And how about you? What is their order for you?"
Alastor questioned the remaining person.
"Are you aware of what I wanted?"
A woman's voice can be heard underneath her hood.
Aleister is perplexed by her question, but Alastor knows the answer and responds, "To have a new life."
"You see, they are going to grant me that wish. For the past five years, I have been living under a false identity. They wanted me to permanently live that life."
"I do not get it. Could you please tell me specifically?"
Aleister decided to join their conversation because he could not figure out where she was going.
Although she was not talking to him, she did not mind telling him.
"In other words, they are going to erase my current existence and replace it with my fake identity."
"We will become enemies because of your fake identity, right?"
"Yes, we are going to be enemies. I expected them to at least allow them to remind the three of you of my original identity, but it appears that they do not want to."
"So, when are they going to do that?"
"Tomorrow."
"I see…"
"Hey, I need to return now."
The man from earlier returns, and he is now calmer.
"Is there an emergency?"
"I have finally found that woman."
"Oh, the Queen?"
"Yes, they said they discovered her in Academy City."
"Okay, then, prince—er, I mean, Emperor—see you later."
"Hmph!"
And the man left the warehouse.
"Since this will be the last time we see each other, do you want to drink before returning to the May City?"
"I do not have much time to go to the pub, but I do have a bottle of wine here. Do you have any cups?"
"I do."
"Hey, give me some too."
Aleister is like a younger brother who always wants to join in on his older siblings' conversations.
The woman pours them a cup and drinks the remainder on her own.
They could not see her face because of the hood, but they could feel her smile.
"I should go back now."
She was walking away when Alastor asked her one last time.
"Would you mind telling me what your new name is?"
Although he will eventually forget about it, he is intrigued to learn her new name.
"My new name? Well, I can tell you. My new name will be— "
…
"Anna… Anna… Are you alright?"
"Huh? What is… Huh? Ah! I am sorry; I fell asleep."
Inside the guild's office, Angelina discovered Anna sleeping at work.
Earlier, Erica barged in as usual and invited her to lunch.
Anna, as always, does the rest of the work until she returns, but she was not expecting to see her like that.
Angelina expressed concern and asked, "Did you get enough sleep?"
"Yes, I did. Anyway, I already take care of Jack Pascal's and Vince Leviathan's papers. I also sent letters to their families informing them of what had happened."
"Well, they are simply unfortunate."
"Yeah."
"Let us not dwell on that sad topic. You are not allowed to come here tomorrow."
"Huh? Guild leader, what are you talking about—"
"I am giving you a day off."
"I do not need it."
"Then tell me how many times you take a rest day per month."
"About 2-3 times."
"See? If you compare, I have more rest days than you. 4–5 times per month! So you are not allowed to come here tomorrow. If not, you are fired."
"But—"
"No buts. Okay?"
"Thank you."
Anna is currently very fortunate to have a boss like her.
…
"So, what am I going to do now?"
When the morning came, she decided to go outside.
Today is her day off from work, but she has no idea what to do.
If resting is the topic, she has already slept until 8 a.m.
It is already 9 a.m. and she feels strange because she has not done anything, which is why she is walking around the city.
She first visits the park's flower garden.
It was very relaxing to see those flowers, but she became bored after an hour.
Now that she thinks about it, she has way too much money.
Although she is working, she is not doing so for money, but rather for the satisfaction of receiving a reward for her hard work.
She had her own bank card, so she went shopping.
She shopped to her heart's content and did not cut corners.
"Damn. I purchase too much."
She has almost a mountain of bags on her side, and she is still holding the rest of them.
She is now at a loss as to how she will handle everything.
"Huh? wait, isn't that…"
As Angelina's secretary, she is familiar with the people around her.
This also implies that she knows the acquaintance of her boss's acquaintance.
"You are Alex, am I right?"
