Alex Hambell: Who's this?
Vince Leviathan: Do not make a joke. You already call me earlier.
Alex Hambell: I apologize. I'm simply being careful. Anyway, Mr. Leviathan, why did you call me?
Vince Leviathan: Can I ask you a question?
'You are presently asking a question.'
Alex Hambell thought sarcastically.
Alex Hambell: What is this?
Vince Leviathan: Were you the shop owner yesterday?
Alex Hambell: Yes, I am.
Vince Leviathan: It appears like my guess is correct. Anyway, shop owner, please go to the guild and report that our squad of three is locked in a trial chamber. We are somewhere in the Zura Forest.
Alex Hambell: Trial Chamber? I see...that's why they—
He did not proceed with his words.
He didn't expect to express what he thought.
Fortunately, he realized it right away; otherwise, he might have slipped the information about the smartphone tracking app.
According to the book, exiting the trial chamber is difficult unless an engineer master destroys the system or they pass the exam and obtain a reward.
Knowing they're calling the guild for help, it appears they didn't pass the trial and still trapped there.
It's unfortunate since eliminating the mechanism means the reward disappears.
He sighs, disappointed.
Meanwhile, Vince Leviathan became speechless due to his unexpected silence, but he quickly spoke to him.
Vince Leviathan: Are you on your way now?
Alex Hambell: Not yet. I need to close my shop first.
Vince Leviathan: OK. I, Vince Leviathan, shall be forever grateful to you.
Alex Hambell: Do not worry about it. Anyway, I'm going now.
He intended to just call Erica Hambell because she might have already reported it to the guild.
He did, however, decide to take a day off and go to the guild because he now has no tasks.
His mana stones are sufficient to allow him to live for ten years at leisure.
He didn't need this shop anymore.
However, the previous owner of his body wishes he could keep their family shop going.
As the previous Alex Hambell's final sentiment, he decided to keep this shop open at least until his older sister graduated from the academy, and then leave the rest up to her to select what things to offer.
That would be the plan if the system were not located here.
The new idea is for him to let his sister manage the shop, but the products for sale will still be from his system.
Anyway, before we get off course, he is currently on the street, contemplating what he would do later, when the system abruptly interrupts his quiet walk.
[New task: Advertise the smartphone inside the guild.]
[Reward: Auto Weak Point]
[Penalty: 250 Mana stones.]
[New task: Sell 15 smartphones in the guild.]
[Reward: Computer Set.]
[Penalty: 250 Mana stones]
[Limited time task. If you leave the guild building before completing the mission, the system will consider you to have failed.]
At this point, he wanted to puke blood.
The cumulative penalty for his work is 500 mana stones, which is exactly how much he now has.
If he does not fulfill these tasks, he will fall back into poverty.
Fortunately, he has a plan to avoid the punishment in case he fails.
Of all, that is simply a backup plan, and the most important thing for now is that he does not fail his tasks.
'I believe advertising is similar to running a shop, so it will be a simple work.'
His thoughts may have been optimistic, but after thinking about them, he instantly prayed for his success.
"I need to go back."
After praying, he returns to his shop to purchase at least 50 boxes of smartphones.
…
When he arrived at the Guild building, he was astounded by its size.
The building's main element is wood, yet once inside, he gets a modern vibe.
The inside of the guild building is equally as large as the outside.
It's morning, so the guild is busy.
Despite the fact that there are only 10 stations, the guild receptionist has a long line.
Four of the stations are for task application, and the remaining four are for adventurers.
In a typical case, he would have to wait in line, but he goes straight to one of the two stations with no lines.
These two stations are emergency stations.
Based on the name, this is the station where you should report an emergency.
However, depending on the nature of your emergency, it will just designate it as such.
If someone wants to cause problems, this place is full of adventurers, therefore that person will undoubtedly be disciplined.
"Ah! How are you doing here?"
As soon as he approaches the emergency station, the receptionist looks astonished.
"Uhmm…"
Alex Hambell doesn't know how to respond.
"Don't you remember me?"
"I-I'm sorry miss but I don't remember you."
Even with the memories he received from his body, he could not recall who this woman was.
"I see."
Her face is melancholy, yet she smiles immediately.
Alex Hambell noticed it, but he has no idea why, so he opted to ignore it for the time being and get back to business.
"I would like to report an emergency."
"An emergency? What type of emergency?"
The woman immediately exudes professionalism.
He is surprised for a time, but then continues.
"Three people are trapped in a trial chamber somewhere in the Zura Forest."
"A trial chamber in the Zura Forest? That place is absolutely not a joke. But first, I need evidence to back up your report. Many people are misusing the guild's emergency system, which is why we require even one piece of evidence. I apologize for failing to consider your point of view.
"Don't worry I understand."
He takes his smartphone out of his pocket.
The woman is curious about what evidence he needs to present.
Alex Hambell contacts Vince Leviathan and delivers the smartphone to the receptionist.
He set it to loud speaker mode so that everyone could hear it.
She is perplexed as to why he does that and wants to know what this rectangular object is.
But before she could inquire, she heard a voice.
"Hello, shop owner. Have you previously reported our situation?"
"EH!!!!"
Surprised, the receptionist tossed his smartphone.
Fortunately, she tossed it upwards, allowing Alex Hambell to snag it.
"What are you doing?"
He is confused by her actions.
"T-t-that thing... is cursed!!"
Everyone in the guild glances at their position and immediately grabs their weapons, ready to assault.
