I was furious, feeling the urge to do something reckless. How could my father just bring in these strangers and then ask me to marry them?
"Father, I have told you and I will tell you again and again, I will never marry anyone. I will only love Ella, and that's it."
As I was about to leave, my father yelled, making me stop in my tracks.
"How dare you walk away from me? Don't you know I am trying to give you a better future? Your wife cannot give birth, she is a witch."
I was enraged, turning around to face my father.
"Why would you say that? Where are you even hearing all this talk from, father? Ella is not a witch, and also remember that she is your daughter-in-law, your beta daughter and my wife to be."
