Lilly kicked open the door and announced her welcome. She raised her eyebrows when she saw an old man in his sixties sitting there and smoking cigarettes. He didn't pay any attention to the newcomer and continued to look outside at the moonless night.
"You must be Lilly, right?" The old man asked, without turning back.
Lilly sighed in disappointment as she expected some different reactions, not this flat and tryna be a mysterious way of welcoming.
Still, there was nothing she could do now. She went and sat on the sofa beside the old man.
Although the room was lit, it was more towards the door, and they were sitting at the edge of the room, where large glass panels fit instead of walls. They could easily see the wonderful view of a moonless sky through these glasses. The stars shined brightly now that there was nothing to steal their spotlight.
