Kevin got even more confused hearing Ruby's words and asked, "What do you mean?"
Ruby sighed and stood up again. She went towards the window and looked outside. Closing her eyes, she enjoyed the morning breeze.
Many things were weighing on her mind, and she didn't want to think about them now.
Kevin didn't question any further and simply waited. He knew Ruby's nature and knew she would answer him.
"I understand that you're confused. But as I said, I simply made a selfish gamble." Ruby said while taking out a cigarette from her pocket.
She lit it up and said, "I didn't agree to her request because of the threat. I'm not really afraid to fight her, at worse I will just die, nothing big."
"For you, it maybe nothing big but for others." Kevin sighed and said.
"You're right. But I wanted to be selfish for once," Ruby smiled. She knew her decision may end up killing many innocents, but she didn't care.
