"Oh... then shall we go back to why Begalan was killing people."
Arthur's eyes were filled with so much lore, but he never liked those, so as much as he needed to learn it all.
He just never felt like even caring about it in any way at all.
"To kill traitors... like me..."
***
Arthur went back to the kingdom to actually get his adventurer card this time without causing any more trouble.
"Yay!"
Arthur
Adventurer
Completed Missions: 0
Failed Missions: 0
Arthur was not able to fully add his name to the card. This was of course because in reality there was no such thing as a last name in this land.
Everyone had only one name and that was it. Including the Emperor.
There were also no ranking systems in the Adventurer's guild, making the card look absolutely bland.
"It's not the best card I have seen. But... just having one(real) feels so amazing."
Arthur was standing in front of a restaurant. He didn't want to take any missions nor even stay at the guild longer than needed. As Begalan was definitely there.
Arthur entered this old looking shop that only had a bar counter in it. Arthur sat with a few people already there and ordered meat.
There were no menus at all, and as the shop smelled like meat, he just said that sentence.
The shop owner immediately noticed that Arthur was new in the kingdom.
When Arthur got his food, it was just a huge bone steak. Arthur grabbed the bone and took the biggest bite he could ever do.
'Taste like... meat... hahahaha! I guess there really is no such thing as a seasoning in this kingdom. Damn, just how people used to eat. If I needed to eat, I would have died of hunger.'
Arthur left the place after finishing his food.
"Man now I want some fried chicken...*
"Why is this day... actually so boring..."
"..."
Arthur felt empty. He had nothing to do. At the very start he wanted to explore the kingdom but now he just felt like doing nothing.
Was it the amount of stupid commitment to ridiculous things at a very long time, finally catching up to him.
Or is it...
"Man... getting rejected really set me back on being a new person... ahhhh..."
Arthur made his way to the edge of the mountain range Kuri.
And he just sat down.
Leaning on a tree.
Looking at the busy view of the kingdom.
Looking at the forest outside the kingdom.
Looking at the bright blue sky.
"I'm so bored..."
"Maybe it is those stupid times of commitment."
"I have done so many things yet in reality it has technically just been around 10 days."
"I have wasted so many times... Could I not just have a good time."
"I can't even make companions in the kingdom as everyone is literally hypnotized."
"Actually I haven't even seen a single child in the Kingdom at all."
"Like they just never existed."
Arthur has finally gotten bored. In the first place even in bis previous life, he always got bored fast.
He was a hardworking yet lazy person.
With the entire thrill that he has experienced, went down for 2 days, the accumulated adrenaline just had no place to go, and now it is dragging him down.
"I feel so down."
"I just fought though, why...?"
"This is a novel, why am I feeling bored. What the fuck? Protagonists never get bored. They always have a personality but they just never seem to actually get tired? Whoah what the fuck!"
Arthur just ranted all his built up random hatred while on top of the mountain.
After some time, he just got bored of this now and decided to come down again. This time he just wanted to go and walk around the kingdom and observed the life of robots.
From small roads only meant for horses.
To goblins just walk with absolutely no emotions.
No animals like cats or dogs.
To no cars that you could get killed and horned at by just stepping a foot out the side of the road.
To the smell of rotten meat filling the city.
To the tall castle of the emperor seen everywhere even behind the mountain.
To run down clothes of the goblins even at the kingdom.
To actual goblins that look just like humans but green.
To the non existence of ey glasses.
To tall buildings that makes you wonder if this isn't just modern times but with no paint.
Absolute silence that you can hear the wind more than the steps of people.
The appearance of bear feet with no existence of such things as shoes or slippers.
The thought that if the world was not riddled with evil and absolute manipulation you could be a tycoon.
"Ahhhh..." Arthur reached the other end of the kingdom after walking for so long. Noticing multiple things. Maybe not enough.
Arthur just walked a straight line, but the kingdom was filled with many places.
So he continued.
To the slumps filled with ex adventurers. Or perhaps goblins who escaped from the "test".
Though the slumps were more of a garbage area of useless goblins.
To the cripples dying on the ground.
To the smell of rotting corpses.
To the smell of scattered feces.
To the battered houses and walls.
The only area where the back of the castle can be seen is so blank.
The place with dead children.
"Damn." The slumps were a small area. But the experience of just walking and observing it is way too much to handle.
"Seriously, babies on the ground are dead. Corpses and were definitely cannabalized. Damn. What a dark section of the kingdom."
As Arthur walked to the end of the slumps, an entire place that could just be called a swamp.
Arthur went to the last "major" section of the kingdom.
The market place.
In this place, maybe Arthur could find entertainment on something.
And entering there for the first time, well he sure was right.
Arthur of course ordered Krill to make him a sword. But just for the meantime... The place had so many shops of swords. And even many different types of weapons...
Arthur had no money to buy things, but in reality in the place he ate at, he didn't even need to pay as long as he was an adventurer. It was of course weird.
But maybe the currency was in the card. It was just not visible.
With that being said. Arthur wanted to do something.
"I want to sell a battle axe."
"A battle axe?*
Arthur looked around and, well... there were actually no battle axes. 'Does battle axes not exist in this world?'
Arthur showed his battle axe to the shop owner. It was the axe called "axe" and he also called it an axe. But it was definitely a battle axe if named in a proper way.
The shop owner's eyes widened and his mouth opened wide. He immediately went away and got back with lots of money.
"Tell me how to make it, and I'll give you 5000 credits."
Well Arthur had no idea what a "credit" was. But he will take it. But he had no idea how to...
'nah, I have a stone carving skill, I can do this so easily.'
And so he did. Of course it was made of stone. Including the handle. So the entire axe he made was basically useless in every aspect in life.
But that didn't matter cause the owner loved it.
With a single test that the owner did, somewhere in the background scene. It was an amazing weapon.
Just like the great sword, it was a heavy weapon but this battle axe was wider and had better range and a stronger damage.
It was the perfect tanker weapon, even when manipulated. The goblin can still properly think about such a simple benefit to his store.
Arthur left the shop with lots of money that just disappeared to his card.
He understood nothing of what had happened but he got money so he didn't care.
But he did forget to buy a sword. And it was already awkward to go back to the previous store he went to so he just went on to another store.
...
[Dark Bracelet]
[A drifted stone that comes from the north of Darin. Used by the demons, though no one knows that. It is just a fancy and beautiful jewel. It holds an incredible amount of power, even holding a secret about "magic"]
"What the fuck!"
Arthur, well, he found himself in a jewelry store. Arthur originally went here to try and boost his ego and confidence by looking better by accessorizing himself.
But first, the accessories in this time were expensive as a house.
But after seeing the word magic. Arthur just didn't hesitate but to.
"I would like to buy this."
"That will be 5000 Credits."
"Deal."
Arthur accepted the price with no hesitation. He didn't even think about how much money he actually had.
And with the money he just got, it all disappeared in an instant. Oh Arthur, I thought you got smarter.
