"Your daughter?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow.
"She's a tier Ru-Neatros." Instructor Kane explained. "The Ark family does not value balance types and many consider her useless."
Hearing this Sol looked in the direction of the Old Steward who nodded in agreement.
"Balance types are considered useful in all the other families apart from ours." Old Chamberlain explained. "Due to our nature and our history of brutally overpowering our enemies. Most Ru-Neatros are considered useless and abandoned to rot away."
Hearing this Sol frowned as he leaned back in thought. Ru-Destros were battle types and considered the main fighting force of any family while the Ru-Neatros are balance types who specialize in support-type tasks.
While they are important in the other families, the family that truly knows their worth are the witches and warlocks. Those are the types of witches that will hex you from the comfort of your home with just a string of your hair.
While reading everything in the former Patriarch's study room, Sol barely saw much about them in the history of the Ark family and brushed them aside as well.
Now he understood why.
There was tension in the room as Instructor Kane waited for Sol's response. The thoughtful look on Sol's face made it more uncomfortable as he believed Sol was looking for a way to politely reject his request.
"If your daughter is willing to dedicate her life to serving me, then I have no problem with your request." Sol finally spoke up. "But I have one condition," Sol added.
"W-what is it that you want my lord?" Instructor Kane muttered timidly, lacking the overbearing presence he had when battling Dorothy.
"Your entire family will move into my castle," Sol said. "If I'm taking your daughter in. I might as well have the entire family."
The anxiety in the face of Instructor Kane vanished and was replaced with a bright smile. He began kowtowing repeatedly as thanked Sol.
"Thank you! Thank you, my Lord." He said. "My family and I will dedicate our lives to serving you. You will not be disappointed!" he cried out and Sol smiled at this.
Instructor Kane may believe Sol was doing him a favor and trying to keep their family together but in reality, Sol acknowledged the skill of this man and needed him close.
The Kahi'k is silent now because he is preparing for his next move. Sol had no intention of standing on the sidelines and waiting for the last moment.
With Instructor Kane's family living in the same castle as Sol, he will be motivated to put his life on the line in a battle against the Kahi'k if he ever attacks.
With that Instructor Kane left the infirmary and Sol began preparing to leave as well. That was when they heard a knock on the door to the room.
The door swung open and Derek walked in, his face twisted in rage as he approached. Sol's steward moved to block his path, infuriating Derek even more.
"Move." He growled but old man Chamberlain had no plans of moving.
"It's okay, wait outside," Sol said to Chamberlain.
With a hesitant look in his eyes, the old steward left the room and shut the door behind him, leaving Sol and Derek alone.
[Name: Derek Nightfang]
[Tier: Nil]
[Race: Werewolf]
[Race Tier: Alpha]
[Type: Ru-Destros]
[Title: Fourth Heir of the Nightfang family]
[Condition: Perfect condition]
[Status: Furious]
This was the first time Sol had gotten the chance to get a good look at Derek and he noticed something. Every other race has different last names even within their family tree.
From what he was seeing here, the Nightfang family must be the family of alpha's rolling the werewolf race but the Ark family was different. Everyone had the Ark's last name. It's just that everyone outside Sol's lineage was considered a branch of the family.
This was something he decided to ask Old Man Chamberlain about as soon as he was done with Derek.
"You set Dorothy up didn't you?" Derek asked but got no facial reaction from Sol.
"Do you have a way to prove that?" Sol asked with indifference in his eyes.
He had no means of knowing if people were standing at the other side of the door listening or if this was Derek's way of setting him up to clear Dorothy's name.
"You…" Derek was taken aback by Sol's response. He didn't expect such a swift and effective response like this.
"Tell me how a teenager still suffering from the constraints of the immortal blood-shattering seal would be able to set up a Feral Bloodclaw," Sol said with squinted eyebrows.
[A/N: Tier two werewolves are known as Feral Bloodclaws. The same way tier two Ark family members are known as Ignited Scions]
"If our positions were reversed, do you think it would be fair to be questioned even when you are clearly the victim?" Sol asked.
His words were like daggers, stabbing into every plan and question Derek had come up with earlier. This left him speechless and confused.
"Are you trying to tell me that the werewolves are so weak and useless, that a weak child can toy with them effortlessly?" Sol asked.
While he remained calm on the surface, a cruel smile spread across his face. Gaslighting Derek was aimed at shifting the discussion from Dorothy to the werewolf race as a whole leaving Derek with no choice but to protect his race.
"Never!" Derek screamed out in response without wasting a second.
At this point, he also began doubting his initial thoughts as he wondered how Sol would be able to pull it off even if he wanted to set up Dorothy especially when she was faster and stronger.
Lost deep in thought he failed to notice Sol walking past him with a cruel smile on his face. Knowing the answer to Derek's question is the mind!
A serial killer is not the most dangerous because he is the strongest. He is only able to kill hundreds of people because he is willing to kill while his victim is left with doubts and uncertainty.
A serial killer becomes a normal man the day he meets a man ready to kill. Dorothy was unwilling to harm Sol however, Sol was willing to go to any lengths to harm her and he had a plan to do so.
It's only natural he came out on top.
