After a brief tour of the research institute with Ligota, Zhang Fan gained an understanding of Floreniel's firearms. Frankly, the weaponry of this world left much to be desired. In an era like this, the infantry still relied on old-fashioned muskets, and the artillery units, though equipped with mortars and rocket launchers, suffered from alarmingly slow firing and reloading speeds, causing Zhang Fan to shake his head in dismay.
"Is something wrong, Hero?" Ligota asked, puzzled by Zhang Fan's reaction.
"Let me show you something," Zhang Fan replied without explaining. He led Ligota to a testing range, previously used for artillery experiments, providing an ideal demonstration site.
Holding his Flame Magnum, Zhang Fan spun it expertly and fired six shots in rapid succession. Each bullet hit the bullseye, and the Magnum's immense power even shattered some of the targets.
"What is this!" Ligota's eyes shone with excitement at the sight. The prospect of Biscode having such weapons was a game-changer.
"You've underestimated firearms," Zhang Fan remarked, amused by Ligota's reaction. "You've always seen the infantry as a defensive force, but you're gravely mistaken!"
"Really? May I see your gun? I promise to return it unharmed," Ligota said, still fixated on the Flame Magnum, looking at it like a cherished toy.
"Do I dare give it to you?" Zhang Fan retorted playfully, recalling how she had just dismantled a phone. The Flame Magnum was too dear to him to risk a similar fate.
"Pleeease, I really want to try," Ligota pleaded, her innocent expression and words so endearing that only a pure-hearted loli like her could utter them without a hint of malice.
"Here, research these instead," Zhang Fan, resigned, handed over several spare pistols, rifles, and even a rocket launcher. These were simpler than a smartphone, and Ligota should have no problem studying them.
"Really?" Ligota's face lit up with joy, and Zhang Fan couldn't say no. By providing these weapons, he hoped to contribute to Biscode's defense, especially for the ordinary soldiers who faced dangers beyond the battlefield.
"Of course, do your best to develop weapons suitable for this world," Zhang Fan encouraged her. In Floreniel, rune magic was dominant, especially in terms of power. These firearms were intended to bolster the self-defense capabilities of ordinary soldiers, as the world was not as peaceful as it seemed, especially near the borders.
"I'll do my best!" Ligota, determined, set about her task with renewed vigor. Zhang Fan trusted her intelligence and ingenuity to adapt these firearms for use in Floreniel.
Returning to his residence, Zhang Fan wondered how Holo was managing the mountain of apples and wine. Knocking on her door, he found her lying on the bed, groaning, with over thirty apple cores on the table. She had eaten that many in one go!
"You didn't have to eat so many at once," Zhang Fan chided gently, amused by her overzealousness.
"But I must! I am the wise wolf Holo! I'll eat them all before they go bad!" Holo declared, though clearly in discomfort.
"Then why not use your exclusive space to create a vacuum area and store the apples there? You wouldn't have to rush then," Zhang Fan suddenly suggested, thinking it a perfect solution for preserving the apples.
"Open my exclusive space in the game? That's nonsense!" Holo looked puzzled, unaware of such a capability.
"Really? How many missions have you completed?" Zhang Fan asked, wondering if Holo was an experienced player.
"Only the second!" Holo replied confidently.
"That explains it," Zhang Fan realized, deciding to teach Holo about using her exclusive space.
After explaining the concept, Zhang Fan was surprised to learn that Holo truly couldn't access her exclusive space in the game world. "Flora, what's going on?" he called out to his system AI for answers, perplexed by this unexpected revelation.
