He could simply wake her up, and then they could head back to where the car was parked, but he didn't want to do that because she was sleeping so peacefully.
He also couldn't leave her here so he could bring his car closer. First, that wasn't possible since there were no roads for a car this close to the riverbank, and second, even if he could bring his car over, he couldn't leave her here, asleep and completely unguarded.
It wasn't likely that anything would happen, but Jason didn't want to take that risk.
"She didn't even tell me what hotel she had booked a room for the night," he muttered to himself.
"Ugh," Jason groaned and tried to shake her awake, but after trying unsuccessfully for more than ten seconds, he suddenly remembered a particular event from the past.
It was the first day the two of them had kissed, and it was a mistake, but that wasn't what Jason was remembering.
