After Beric entered the meeting room, the entire place went as silent as a graveyard without crows. All those who had been raising their complaints and worries quieted down as they were too scared to upset the prince regent.

His presence alone, looking all sullen and grumpy, intimidated them. He hated these meetings more than anything. All they had to do was give him the go ahead and he'd take his men to war.

"Now," Tristan clapped his hands. "Being silent won't solve any problems. Shall we move on to the next agenda?" He asked and took the silence of the nobles as a yes. "My prince regent is yet to get a wife." He said and everyone flinched.

Their gazes stiffly shifted to Beric whose face immediately contorted in displeasure. He growled at the king.

"Why do I need one?"

"Come now, you wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life being single, would you?" Tristan asked with a friendly smile.
