Yeon Jin escaped to the garden and finally stopped, hiding under a tree. He took a moment to catch his breath and when he was sure no one was chasing after him, he sat down and sighed.
"This is dangerous." He said to himself and rested his head on the tree bark. "But where am I even going? I don't know a single place here."
While trying to collect his thoughts and think of a way to survive, Yeon Jin remembered Daniel's final words to him. A promise he wanted him to keep no matter what.
The words Daniel whispered to his ears before throwing him into the river were, 'Promise me we'll be together again. You and I, no matter the lifetime, we have to be together, okay? Promise me you will love me and me alone.'
And while he was still trying to grasp what those words meant, Daniel picked him up like he was a lump of dough, not weighing a thing, and threw him into the water.
Yeon Jin groaned. That promise, what exactly did it mean? It was almost as if he, Daniel, knew what was going to happen. He could call himself crazy for coming up with such a conclusion but there was nothing crazy about that when he, Yeon Jin, suddenly transmigrated into a world he could not recognize.
And to think the first person he would see would be the exact replica of Daniel. It was like the universe was messing with him.
"Daniel." He muttered.
Meanwhile, Beric, who had defeated all the knights gruesomely, picked up a water bottle and was about to drink when he suddenly found himself in front of a tree.
He looked round and quickly recognized the place to be the palace garden. How did he get there when he did not teleport?
"What...?" He quickly spotted someone hiding behind the tree and reached for his sword but it wasn't there. He took a step closer, ready to use his powers to finish off whoever it was, till he heard a little mutter from a familiar voice.
"Seriously, Daniel, what was the meaning behind your words?" It was the spy from the Holy empire. "I just want to go home."
'How did he escape?' Beric wondered and decided this time, he would finish him off. He was just too dangerous to predict.
But as he advanced his steps, his vision of the tree and the garden faded and a hand fell on his shoulder.
Due to reflexes, he threw the owner of the hand to the floor, ready to rip them apart. Only for him to realize it was Allen.
"Captain, my arm will really break this time." Allen said, groaning from the pain.
"You can only blame it on you sneaking up on me." Beric said and let go, his mind jumbled as to what just happened with him in the garden.
"I didn't sneak up on you, captain. You were standing still like a rock and I called you more than four times." Allen explained as he stretched his arm, hoping it didn't get any dislocation.
"What?" Beric looked at him surprised. What happened?
So when he was advancing towards that spy, he was standing still over here. But why would he see that in the first place?
He started growing upset and the air around him turned intense with a hint of murderous intent.
Allen quickly took a step back and looked back to see that the rest of the knights had backed up really far away. He was the only one standing close to Beric in the radius of ten feet.
Anxious, he started taking slow steps back, hoping not to tick Beric off.
When Beric usually got angry, he swung his sword at anyone in his way, be it his former comrades in battle or even his personal assistant. So when he was about to throw a fit, they made sure to back away as far as possible.
Beric picked up his sword and in the blink of an eye, disappeared, leaving a light mist of his dark red fog.
Once he was gone, the soldiers made sure to count to thirty before finally breathing a sigh of relief. They couldn't sigh too soon after seeing him leave because there was a chance that he would come back right away.
"Whew!" Allen gave out a sigh of relief, his chest finally coming down from the anxiety.
"What's going on here?" Stein asked as he entered the training area and Allen turned to him.
"The prince just left to kill someone." He said.
Beric teleported to the room Yeon Jin had been kept in but he did not find a single trace of him.
"So, he decided to flee." Beric said over greeted teeth. "Very well. You can run but you can definitely not hide."
Following his hunch, Beric teleported to the garden he envisioned seeing himself in and surprisingly, Yeon Jin really was there.
'I am not going to hesitate to end him this time. Whatever he did to me or whatever his powers are, I will make sure they disappear with his existence.' He concluded and as soon as he showed himself, he raised his sword, ready to strike Yeon Jin dead.
Yeon Jin raised his head to the shadow before him, revealing his teary eyes and met with a murderer who paused upon seeing him cry.
"Ahh." Yeon Jin stumbled towards the other side in shock. He didn't expect the prince to find him so fast. "How did you find me? Do you want to kill me so badly?" He asked. "I didn't even do anything. Why must I die in your hands?"
Beric, who strangely hesitated to strike when he had the chance, glared at Yeon Jin. What sort of power did he have over him? Why were things not going the way he wanted them to?
Fine.
Beric threw his sword aside and reached out for Yeon Jin, violently grabbed both his shoulders and he spoke with a harsh tone.
"You... I'm going to make you spill out all your little secrets. The powers you possess, I'm going to figure it all out. Even if I have to rip you to shreds, cut you bits by bits, drain out all your blood and... " His words were shockingly interrupted by a sudden smack on his face.
Yeon Jin, fed up with his mean and harassing words, punched him.
"And then what?" He asked. "Once you get to know what powers I possess, what are you going to do next? Seriously, it's not like you'll be able to harness it so spare me the lecture and the unnecessary torture and do what you must. You came to kill me, right? You better do it while I'm still playing nice."
