There were a few thugs that had been behind me and they quickly scrambled away from me to take cover at the far corner of the floor.
The boss glared at me and hefted his power hammer before charging towards me in a straight path.
I braced myself and started firing my machine gun at the charging boss, my bullets ricocheting off his shield without even cracking it.
He must have some kind of shield that focused on durability because despite me holding down the trigger for a good few seconds and blasting him with a rain of machine gun fire, his shield still showed no signs of breaking.
I had to start moving back as he continued charging towards me but I quickly realised that I wasn't going to be able to break his shield before he reached me.
Deciding to take the risk, I quickly pulled out my shotgun and shrugged off the machine gun backpack, lessening my weight so that I could move faster.
