Neither Melvin nor Peter said a word as they returned to the car. Once they got into the car, Kimberly looked at Peter, "Why was this not handled until now?" Kimberly asked, not bothering with Melvin.
"You said they…." Peter stopped when Melvin suddenly coughed to stop him.
He was feeling too embarrassed by how he had 'handled' it in comparison to what Kimberly had just done.
"There is no reason for him to remind you of something you said. I think…." Kimberly shot Melvin a look that shut him up before looking at Peter again,
"Go on."
"You said they weren't your employees or your business, and the construction company should take care of it," Peter explained.
"Yet the construction company didn't. How long have they been working…. You know what? Never mind. Arrange a meeting with everyone who is in one way or the other responsible for this project," Kimberly ordered, forgetting for the moment that she wasn't the boss.
