"Are you saying the Princess is planning to marry me?" Lewis asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.
Lillian's face flushed as she quickly responded, "I-I... That was just a hypothetical question. Whoever becomes your wife will want complete honesty between you two."
"And that woman will be you, Lily," Lewis said, his voice steady as he approached her with deliberate, measured steps.
Lillian shot him a sharp glare. "I haven't decided yet if you'll be my husband. And if you are, I won't tolerate any secrets between us. You're already hiding something from me," she accused him with a frustrating tone.
Lewis stopped in front of her, looking into her eyes. "I can't imagine my life without work, even after getting married," he explained as his voice softened.
"True. However, hiding things isn't good," Lillian said firmly.
