"Magnus, you took a long time to return," Alora said, her voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of concern.
Elliot glanced at the prince, knowing how he requested Magnus to keep all that happened earlier a secret from Alora. Magnus met his gaze briefly, a silent promise passing between them.
"We were just wandering around the academy," Magnus replied smoothly, honoring his promise to Elliot.
Izaak and Alaric exchanged skeptical glances, clearly doubting Magnus's explanation, but chose to remain silent. They knew better than to challenge the prince's words in front of Alora.
"Well, it's time for us to leave," Izaak announced, rising from his seat with a purposeful air. Alaric and Griffin followed suit, their expressions carefully neutral.
"I'll see you to the carriage," Elliot offered with a warm smile, trying to ease the tension. The others nodded in agreement, and they all made their way out of the room.
