Liang Chen's mother was genuinely terrified by her son's actions. She meticulously instructed others to help Liang Chen onto the bed. She consoled him with a choking voice, like pacifying a child, eventually covering him with a blanket and feeding him porridge.
Tired of causing such a commotion, seeing his own mother terrified by his actions made Liang Chen feel a hint of guilt at the bottom of his heart. Thus, he obediently opened his mouth and drank the porridge.
After Liang Chen finished eating, his mother felt mildly relieved. She patted his body comfortingly through the blanket, coaxing him to sleep.
Having slept for so long, Liang Chen didn't feel the slightest bit tired. But for the sake of not worrying his mother, he closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.
As he lay with his eyes closed for an extended period of time, he did start to feel somewhat tired. Within his drowsiness, Liang Chen could feel his mother still tightly gripping his hand.
