Liang Chen slowed down his pace and walked over, staring at Jing Haohao who lay in the bed.
A yawning servant suddenly lifted her head and saw someone standing in front of her. She gasped quietly before quickly standing up in a nervous flurry, calling out, "Mr. Chen."
Liang Chen visited every night. Most of the night servants were often so weary they slept deeply. So he was taken aback when one of the servants suddenly woke up. He hesitated, his face twisting in slight discomfort before returning to a composed expression. He nodded and mumbled an acknowledgment, saying nothing further.
"Mr. Chen, please take a seat." The servant quickly made room for him.
Liang Chen did not sit down. He gazed at Jing Haohao, who remained in a drowsy sleep, and said, "You sit. It's late. I'm going to bed."
The servant hastily nodded approval.
Before departing, Liang Chen took a couple more glances at Jing Haohao and then left without a backward glance.
