Liang Chen kept his head low, staring at Jing Haohao: "Had enough tantrum?"
Jing Haohao looked back at him. She showed no signs of submission. In a surprisingly calm voice she asked, "When will you let me go? When will this end? I don't love you, and you don't love me. What's the point of this relentless entanglement? I want to die, but I'm forced to live in torment by your side."
Since she came home, she had spoken only a handful of sentences to him, all essentially asking when he would let her go. The moment he learned she was leaving, he felt extreme discontent. But he endured it, just like the last few times, trying to control his temper.
He had spent his life being pampered by others. When had he ever been wronged for another's sake? But after meeting her, he made painstaking efforts to please her. His efforts fell flat, and she accused him of tormenting her.
A simmering volcano of indignation, culminated over time, exploded within him.
