The twilight cast its glow upon the earth, painting the sky a crimson hue. The Black Knight Alessio and the Guardian Chiara stood at the end of the path, waiting for us from afar. Lily and I walked hand in hand, laughing while talking on the street. Adelina followed silently behind us, her gaze deep and serene, as if pondering something.
As we approached, Lily broke free from my hand and ran joyfully towards them, waving the map and shouting, "Alessio, Chiara, guess what we found!" Her voice brimmed with joy and excitement.
I chuckled foolishly at Chiara, who gently remarked, "Lily, I suppose it's a gift." Meanwhile, Alessio gazed at the beauty of the sunset, the restless wind blowing against our cheeks.
Lily's long hair danced in the wind, a beautiful sight to behold. Her face radiated innocence and joy, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's tickets to the Magic Academy!" she exclaimed. "We're almost there! We're almost there!"
The sound echoed there, resonating among the mountains and rivers.
In the evening, we gathered around the campfire, Alessio tended to the horses, packed our belongings, and donned full armour. He ate dried beef, gently wiping the dust off his sword.
"We must depart tonight," he said. "The scent of the Rain of Death is gathering once again, and we must reach the station before dawn."
Lily and I wore military uniforms, clutching golden spellbooks. Adelina and Chiara created runes to purify the surroundings, shielding us from the effects of the Rain of Death.
"The demons' trial is upon us," I said. "Once the Blood Moon appears, it signifies the beginning of a trial. Lily, why did you come here?"
Just then, a low and dignified voice suddenly echoed in our ears.
Alessio became alert. "That's the roar of the Fenrir. It is the killer of demon spirits, unstoppable, and a mad wolf."
As the sombre and prolonged prelude came to a close, several majestic wolves resounded with a resounding chorus, echoing through the night sky once again. Alessio and I picked up the horns. Lily rushed forward, amidst despair yet with a firm and resolute gaze, taking a deep breath, shouting in a voice completely inconsistent with her figure: "Drive!"
The horn rang out loud and impassioned, as the horses raced towards the station, the leading black wolf bellowing with even more momentum.
As a decisive battle loomed, Alessio ran ahead of Lily, clearing the way with his sword. Meanwhile, Adelina and Chiara ran to the right, the rabbit of light perched on my head emitting light, attempting to attract the wolf pack to my side.
"Woo!" I blew the horn again, and the wolf pack split into two. At this moment, the fierce wind grew even stronger, and the Fenrir danced along with it: "Howl!"
Then, Lily threw her magical device at me, "Go find the Fenrir!"
"Hope, like a dream," the moment I touched the magical device, I seemed to feel Lily's soul whispering beside me. That familiar touch, that subtle ripple, made me feel as if I were in her world.
"Hope, like a flame," I murmured, determination shining in my eyes. "A spark can ignite a prairie fire."
I took a deep breath, gathering the strength within, then dashed out of Adelina and Chiara's protective shield. Protected by magic, I felt the aura and power around me, as if merging with the entire world.
In the magic, the wolves' figures seemed to be burning like fire, their torn souls ascending to the sky. I gazed at them, feeling the wildness and power emanating from them. At that moment, I seemed to establish a mysterious connection with them, feeling the wolf's totem.
I ran towards the distance, sensing the Fenrir's aura with my soul. "Don't be afraid!" Lily's voice seemed to echo in my ears, "Please believe in yourself! Just like shooting through the stars, gather all the love in your heart together!"
I charged forward, heading straight for the centre of the wolf pack, their screams becoming more piercing as if cursing me. The howls of these wolf packs, like roaring lions, are full of wildness and power. Their roars were deafening as if penetrating my soul. Their figures were like flying dragons, agile and swift, making me feel an unprecedented sense of oppression.
"Pray, put thy trust in thyself! As doth the maiden upon yonder stage, with confidence, unveil her graceful dance to the eager audience!"
Flames, frost, lightning... Under the influence of the magical device, supernatural forces transformed into brilliant rays of light. Flames consumed the bodies of the wolf pack, frost froze their movements, and lightning burst into the sky, gradually dissolving their attacks. The pack descended into chaos. Riding the wind, I ran ceaselessly, with Lily and her companions closely following behind.
Suddenly, a dark figure surged out from the midst of the wolf pack, it was Fenrir. Its body was unusually massive, resembling a towering giant. Its eyes gleamed with ferocious light as if to devour all living beings. Its limbs were robust and powerful, each step seeming to make the earth tremble. Its bared fangs gleamed with a chilling light, sending shivers down my spine.
It emitted a deafening roar, and the wolf pack seemed to receive some command, completely blocking off all my avenues of escape, and emitting a tremendous noise.
This sudden turn of events filled me with a palpable sense of apprehension. Suddenly, the Fenrir let out a tremendous roar, as if to say, "Aika! I am the king here; you cannot defeat me!"
The Fenrir's power far surpassed our previous imagination; its appearance instantly intensified the entire situation. However, we had no intention of backing down. We tightly gripped our weapons and magical devices, preparing to engage in a life-and-death struggle with the Fenrir.
It advanced towards us with a calm and dignified gait, as if to tread the entire earth beneath its feet. Its gaze was like two icy blades, locking directly onto me. That gaze exuded a strong sense of enmity and threat as if I had become its prey, unable to escape. I felt the immense and haunting aura emanating from it as if it could penetrate my soul.
I couldn't help but tremble all over, every cell filled with fear and tension. I tightly grasped my weapons and magical device, trying to gather strength from within. However, no matter how hard I tried, that sense of fear still surged over me like a tide, making it impossible for me to remain calm. Despite my efforts to rally, that sense of fear still lingered around my heart like a shadow. My heart trembled, and rainwater pierced through my body like sharp knives.
At this moment, the prolonged howl of wolves echoed, lingering and plaintive, like a lament, touching the soul.
"Son, dost thou still remember thy mother?" On the magical device, the hexagram appeared. This voice, presumably from Beelzebub, seemed to hover in the sky, guiding the actions of the wolf pack.
At this moment, a faint voice reminded me even more: "Child, do not be afraid, your father is protecting you."
In front of Lily and the others, I raised the magic device she had given me. Overwhelmed by fear, tears welled up in my eyes. In the burning of my soul, the magic device generated a tremendous magnetic field.
"O thunder! Weep with me!" In despair, I unsealed the magic device. The immense magnetic field pierced through my palm, and at that moment, summoned forth a colossal lightning from the sky's clouds, illuminating everything like judgment.
...
"Princess Aika! Wake up!"
"Princess Aika! Wake up! We've arrived!"
"Princess Aika! We're all here! We've reached the station!"
