Rather than tying up another fabricator with printing a nozzle while this one sits idle, you consider it best to borrow a nozzle from something not in use so no fabricators are sitting unused.
You find a hose end from one of the showers that was made to the same standardized shape. It takes a bit of filing down, but you manage to get it to fit the fabricator.
"Fire her up!" you tell Virginia.
"All systems are go," she says, as she sets it to print another nozzle head.
Soon the old plastic is cleared away for recycling and the fabricator is again churning out useful items, layer by layer. You've made things a little easier for the people living on the spaceship.
