Tom was right by the library the next day at 6 o'clock for fear of Debora's bad-mouthing and blaming. The door wouldn't open and Debora didn't come no matter how much Tom waited.
Around 7 o'clock, Tom saw a girl who was rubbing her eyes.
"Why are you late?" asked Tom.
"I was asleep," Debora answered with drowsiness.
"I'm standing here for an hour while you were dreaming of fairies?!"
"The library opens at 7, why would I come sooner?!"
"So why didn't you tell me anything?!"
"You didn't ask and I thought you know already. Doesn't matter. Let's get inside,"
Debora pushed the door when it was 7 and entered. They were the first visitors as expected. Even Sidgwick was still sleeping.
On the fourth floor and on shelf C-7, the books related to the most dangerous creatures (Level-1) were placed.
The third-eyed mountain goat was one of them that feeds from other animals' corpses. This goat can foresee a few seconds of the future that's why capturing it is very difficult.
Tom and Debora brought some books down and searched for any information about this creature.
"Pay attention not to miss anything," said Debora.
Tom nodded. They looked for an hour but couldn't find anything. Tom leaned on his chair:
"Shall we rest for a bit?"
"I'm not tired yet, you can rest,"
Tom sat on the chair and for the first time, looked at his necklace curiously.
"Have you missed her?" Debora asked while she was reading.
"W…what?"
"Your mother…have you missed her?"
"I hated her until a few months ago but now…now it doesn't matter anymore,"
Debora didn't raise her head and said nothing.
"What about you? Have you missed them?"
"One wouldn't miss something that they never had!"
Tom wanted to continue reading when a book in front of Debora caught his attention.
"This…isn't it what you are looking for?"
Debora looked at the book in surprise:
"How…how didn't you see it?!"
"It was among your books not mine!"
Debora was lost in thoughts:
"Strange! How did I miss it?!"
"You were lucky that I was here,"
Debora gave a short smile.
"I go then now that you've found it. We are going to train dueling with the guys," said Tom.
Tom left. Debora sat there for an hour and wrote the things she wanted down until she got tired. Decided to go to the kitchen to get a snack. She turned on the small lantern which was by the table. The lighted lantern shows that the table is reserved.
The first floor of the library was the most crowded and the last one the least as the books there were very specialized and few in number.
Debora went down the stairs and reached the second floor when some magistudents' talks caught her attention.
"I'm telling you I heard it…there is nothing more reliable than my ears!"
Debora continued on her way but she could still hear their voices:
"Debora Foster is a retard!"
Debora was petrified in her place. All the things they were saying were against her. She slowly went closer to hear better. One of the boys said:
"I don't believe it…isn't she very smart and prideful?"
"Even I can memorize a book after reading it for the hundredth time. Believe me, Steve, she is stupid,"
Debora was getting sad and angry little by little. Steve Marple asked his friend:
"Who said that she is stupid?"
"That boy, Tom Martin,"
Debora's mind exploded. Why would Tom say such a thing?! They were helping each other the very hour ago! Steve Marple's friend continued:
"I heard it when he was talking to his friends. It seems Debora Foster and he was looking for something in the library and Debora didn't notice when the thing she wanted was right in front of her. Tom said that Debora was flipping through the books like an idiot and she was lucky that I was there otherwise she couldn't find it forever!"
"Debora was lucky that Tom was there!" it was exactly the same thing that Tom said.
"I can't believe the magic role model of mine was a retard this whole time," said Steve Marple.
Debora was angry wrecked and blood turned her eyes red. She was the most intelligent until a few hours ago but now a retard donkey had more prestige than her; it's all Tom Martin's fault.
Debora left the library in anger, went to the training area, and looked for Tom.
The crowd had circled around the duel ring and were fighting each other one by one.
Debora reached there. Tom was standing there with Charlie and a few others laughingly.
"Hey have you finished that boo-"
"Smack!"
Tom was slapped by Debora which made everyone shock.
"What are you doing?!" Tom said Frightenedly.
"What do you think?!" Debora was in a rage.
"I don't know, maybe you've gone mad!"
"Yeah, I've become mad. You made me like this! Why did you lie to everyone?!"
Nick and Joseph arrived. Nick quickly stood in between Tom and Debora:
"What's wrong with you two?!"
"Ask that liar friend of yours!"
Nick looked at Tom.
"I don't know anything! She came suddenly and slapped me,"
"You filthy liar!" Debora said angrily as she was coming for the second slap.
Nick pushed Debora back and shouted:
"ENOUGH!"
Nick calmed her down with difficulty.
"He has told everyone that I'm a stupid retard. You trash!"
"Okay okay, relax…"
"Relax?! Now everyone is thinking that I'm a retard. Thanks to your…dear friend!"
Nick had held Debora's hands hard.
"I don't know anything…," said Tom.
"Shut up! Just shut your mouth,"
Nick interrupted her again:
"You are angry now! Let's calm down and then we can talk,"
Nick was taking Debora out of the training area. She saw Steve Marple and a few others that were looking at her disgustingly and it made her blood boil.
At a fraction of a second, she pushed Nick away and threw a chair which was in the corner of the duel ring at Tom. the chair hit Tom and threw him meters away.
"What did you do?!" Nick shouted.
Charlie was the closest to Tom. Tom wasn't unconscious and his face only was on the ground.
Charlie extended his hand to Tom:
"Are you okay?! Give me your hand,"
Tom turned and looked at him. Charlie suddenly took a step back terrifyingly.
"What…what happened?! Said Tom.
All the magistudents went back with terrified faces. Tom noticed that blood was dripping from his forehead. Everyone saw his wound regenerating.
"He is a monster!"
"Oh my god. He is a Maldyto, run!"
Everyone was screaming and many ran away.
"I'm…I'm not a monster," said Tom.
He wanted to stand up but couldn't. magistudent took a step back after seeing his movement.
"Guys, it's me…Tom,"
No one was daring enough to talk to him. Tom extended his hands towards Charlie and shed tears:
"Charlie, help me stand up. Please,"
Even Charlie didn't dare to get close to him. Tom was crying and shouting:
I'm not a monster. I'm Tom…your friend. Don't be afraid!"
Nick was the only one who went to Tom and helped him stand up.
"Nick, I'm not a bad person. I'm not a monster,"
"I know…I know,"
Debora was petrified while staring at Tom. neither could run nor get close.
Didn't take long until the palace authorities such as Master Tizard, Professor Anderson, and Professor Knightley arrived. Solomon Tizard was closer than others and pushed Nick away from Tom.
"Don't get close to him kid!"
"Calm down Solomon. He is just a kid," said Professor Anderson.
"A kid who can kill us all!"
Fredrik Knightley reached them:
"Tom would never do such a thing,"
