Thousands of lives were lost, tons of buildings were leveled to the ground by the rampaging beasts, including the battle between the 2 apex predators.
The city lost a lot on this black day, but that was not what mattered most.
What mattered most was that there were survivors.

When the civilian survivors finally came out of the safe houses that were built around the city, seeing all the destruction and death everywhere, they felt devastated but heck, they were still breathing.
