Yeop Chunghee POV
I was typing on my computer when I heard my doorknob chime.
'Ah..Youngjae'
I remember I told him to visit me on a whim.
'Well, it's not like I wanted to work today'
I opened the door and saw him smiling while holding a box of donuts and two cups of americano. He was wearing a blue sweater and a beany which looked very cute on him, I couldn't help but chuckle at his appearance.
"What are you laughing for?"
"Nothing" I shrugged before my gaze went down and stared at the box of donuts he brought. "Donuts?"
"Well, since you're a public officer, I thought you'd like some donuts and coffee"
"I'm a lawyer, not a policeman Mr. Hoon"
"Hahaha" He took off his boots and placed the box of donuts and coffee on the floor
"Feel free to make yourself at home"
"Got it Hyung~" he says in a teasing tone as I click my tongue to him in a joking way as well
I opened the second door revealing my cozy home to him. As a twenty-seven-year-old man who lives alone, there are not many appliances but only the essentials. There isn't a specific color scheme as well but the colors I picked are made to compliment the style of this place.
"Eh? Should I call you ahjussi as well?" Hoon Youngjae followed behind me and placed the food and drink on the dining table
(A/N: Hoon Youngjae and Yeop Chunghee's age gap is a total of nine years if not following the Korean age)
"Didn't you already put a line between us?"
"Didn't you already erase that line when you invited me to your home?"
'He got me..' I chuckled before rubbing his hair. He was a lot shorter than me so I could easily rub his head whenever I wanted to.
(A/N: Youngjae is currently 5'6 tall while Chunghee is 6 ft.)
"Alright Youngjae I'll be your older brother from now on"
"I prefer you to be my ahjussi though…"
"You…" I pinched his ear causing him to yelp in pain
"Okay! Okay! Ahjus-Hyung! Hyunng!"
I nodded and let go of his ear before hearing him grumbling
"Hmph…if it weren't for the regression I wouldn't have experienced this abuse.."
'Regression?' I raised my eyebrow before shrugging what he just said.
'Probably nothing. Youngjae is at that age where he pretends to have regressed or is the main character'
(A/N: He's passed that age Yeop Chunghee…)
"Just eat your donut you fool." Youngjae sat down and ate a strawberry donut.
I also took a bite of a chocolate and controlled my facial expression in front of him
'Sweet…too sweet' I drank the ice americano Hoon Youngjae bought but as expected, it was also too sweet.
'How did an Ice americano even become this kind of level of sweetness?'
"Youngjae.." I said with a husky voice forcing myself not to cough "Do you perhaps have a sweet tooth?"
"Hmm?" He raised his eyes to me while eating his second donut "No? Doesn't everybody eat this level of sweetness?"
'No. Clearly not. Because of this meal, I feel like I need to visit the dentist tomorrow'
"…I don't like sweets." I finally said. Although it was a lie and I actually can enjoy sweets and desserts, but after this, I don't think I'll be touching sweets in the next couple of years.
"Ahh is that so.." he drooped his head in shame and I couldn't help but feel guilty.
"Youngjae-"
He raised his head, and his eyes were shining with glee "Should we eat sushi then?"
I was speechless for a while before sighing
"…sure, but you'll pay"
….
"Here are the documents Youngjae"
"Thank you Hyung" Hoon Youngjae briefly looked at the contents of the documents before quickly picking up his chopsticks to stop me from getting the last piece of sushi
"Hyung…"
"Youngjae, as your Hyung, let go"
"I paid for this meal."
"You were the one who suggested to get sushi in the first place."
"That's because you didn't like sweets"
The two of us glared at each other while our chopsticks fought to death
"So Hyung how was your day?" Hoon Youngjae tried distracting me by asking a question
"Good before you came" I hit his chopstick and tried to get the last piece.
"Weren't you the one to invite me to your house Hyung?" He smiled. Even after my successful attempt, he still managed to block my attack.
"That was because I needed to hand you some documents not go on a date with you"
"This isn't a date Hyung" His eyes then darkened. It seems he saw something unsightly before he shifted his gaze to me.
"We are literally in a 5-star restaurant with candles and everything Hoon Youngjae. If this isn't called a date I don't know what is"
"They said that the food in 5-star restaurants tastes bitter! Where am I supposed to bring you for lunch if not here?!"
While he was distracted, I quickly picked up the last sushi and ate it.
He glared at me with hatred "…I'm calling you Ahjussi from now on."
"That's not fair." I said while munching on the sushi.
"…Evil ahjussi" He sniffed his nose before ordering another plate of sushi.
"If you were going to order another sushi, you should've done so before"
"I didn't want to waste money" As he says so, I look upon the other six plates of sushi we finished along with the two plates of oysters that cost more than my year's budget.
'…I think it's already too late for that Hoon Youngjae'
"It seems like you're enjoying what your parents left you"
"…" He froze. It seems like he doesn't realize he does that whenever people talk about his parents.
"It's what they would probably wish for me to do so" He says as he droops his eyes.
'He hasn't moved on.' No matter how many times he says he's okay and he has moved on from his parents I don't think I'll ever believe him if he keeps acting like that.
'Though it's natural..' I sighed before leaning back to my chair. 'I'll let him figure that out'
"That's true. If they left that much of money for you then I'm sure they would've wished for you to live enjoyably throughout your life" I sipped my orange juice.
He then nodded and thanked the waiter who brought the sushi he just ordered.
"Live your life whatever you want Hoon Youngjae" I said with a smile. "Don't overstress yourself."
"I already know that ahjussi" He chuckled
"… When will you stop the 'ahjussi'?" I glared at him. We only have a nine-year age gap so it's not like I'm that much older than him.
"I'll keep calling you that for as long as I want Hahahaha"
"…you little rascal"
-----
"Ahjussi" I called and went upon a man in a café in London, England talking with his wife.
"Oh! Yeop Chunghee you're here!" He said in Korean enthusiastically and raised his arm brightly while his wife sighed at his behavior.
"Dear…Take a sit and behave… We are in London right now"
"But our son is here.."
"He's not our son you ####" Mrs. Pyo He-Ran hits her husband in the foot causing him to sit down
"That hurts..."
"If you behaved any sooner, then you wouldn't have gotten hurt"
I sat down in front of them chuckling at their bickering as I took off my small coat.
"What brings both of you here Mrs. Pyo?" I deliberately caught the attention of Mrs. Pyo He-Ran by saving Mr. Gye Young
"Hmm...well you see I know this might be so sudden but...Do you have any parenting advice for us?"
"Parenting advice?"
This was surprising…I never would have thought out of all people, these two would ask me that.
"Is it about Hoon Youngjae?"
"Yes…I'm afraid at his tenth birthday, he pretended not to recognize us, and the worst thing is, when we tried to get closer to him he threw a tantrum and cried." Mrs. Pyo rubbed her fingertips nervously.
I stayed silent for a moment analyzing what she just said.
"…You both realize I just turned 18 in international age right?"
"Doesn't matter!" Mr. Mr. Gye Young said determinedly.
"You're eighteen and now an adult. I'm sure after coming out of your childhood days, you'll be able to tell us about how to handle kids going through puberty right?" Both of them look at me with sparkling eyes and hope.
"…That isn't how it works Ahjussi and Ahjumma" I said helplessly.
"Then tell me how it works!" He cried slamming his fists on the table
'God…someone help me' I thought while also crying on the inside listening to their please.
