The highlight of the event had started, and that was what got everyone's attention.
The auctioneer started by giving some ideas about the jewelries coming up. "Now, everyone. These pieces that you all are about to see now are the rarest of them all. Our dear Miss Susan had gone through countries and continents for these pieces. Can we all just celebrate her for a moment" he said and everyone clapped as Susan stood up from her seat, smiling and bowing in the direction of the people.
This was when Milo walked in and sat somewhere random to avoid talking to anyone.
"Brittney" Amelia turned to Brittney who was beside her, and she answered "Yes, Miss Amelia". "Would I look like a bad guy if I buy whatever comes out no matter how much it cost?" She asked. Brittney did not seem the least bit surprised "How would you be the bad guy? Just let the kids have their fun and then Mother would take the crown" Brittney smiled at her, before looking back to the auctioneer.
Amelia stared at her and chuckled "I've definitely rubbed off on you"
A jewelry was brought in covered with a cloth. The cloth was taken off and everyone nodded impressed by the jewelry. The cameras of the reporters in the room flashed on the jewelry causing a slight glow to come from it. The auctioneer began to give the description of it.
"This is a pendant necklace of black and white diamonds made by Royals, courtesy of Jeweler Madison" he said and Madison stood up while everyone gave her an applause.
The auctioneer continued "The pendant which is a tear drop black diamond consists of a 32 carat black diamond at the price of $160,000. The necklace connected to the black diamond are of colorless white diamonds. Our expert in diamonds will know that the colorless diamonds that are loupe clean are the best quality diamonds. That is our white diamonds here."
"The white diamonds are of 3 carat diamonds in 45 pieces costing up to $1,587,000. Do you know the origin of black diamonds? Dr. Haggerty believes black diamonds are the remains of dying stars that exploded and found their way to earth."
He said and there was gasps and awe from the people in the room.
The auctioneer smiled as he had gotten their attention with that. He continued "He referred to them as 'Boulders of Star Dust'. Would you not love it if you had this rare accessory in your possession. The bidding starts from $1,800,000" he said.
Because of his description of this pendant, people immediately started to raise their bead.
"$1,900,000" A woman said raising her paddle "I see $1,900,000. Anyone for $2,000,000?" The auctioneer asked and another woman raised hers "$2,100,000" she said.
The big ones chose not to get involved with this diamond because it was not a big show of their wealth, they wanted to wait for the others. But Amelia wanted the black diamond. She loved the way it looked and decided she would get it, she was only waiting for the bid to get as high as it can get, and then crash it.
The bid had gotten as high as $10,000,000, then Amelia decided it was time. She whispered in Brittney's ears "Bid Brittney. End it"
"I see $10,100,000" The auctioneer was getting really excited "anyone going for $10,200,000?" He asked and the place remained quiet. They all thought going higher than that would be going above the limits, so they thought it better to end it there. The woman who gave the bid smiled in satisfaction.
Okay, the black diamond pendant is going for $10,100,000. Going once, going twice, so_" he was about to hit his gavel when Brittney's voice rang out.
"$40,000,000"
Amelia smiled behind her mask.
