Chapter 27 - Bad Teacher

Long Jingyi knew that Principal Feng would confront him sooner or later. However, he never expected to meet the man so soon. Everyone knew he loved his daughter, but no one could have guessed that he would come over a long distance to see her.

Usually, the portal gate would be opened by the elders from the capital of the Obsidian Continent, Obsidian City. Experts were always available, and the emperor would send some of his people to ensure that the process was successful.

The Shademantle Academy was further away, so it was a little excessive for the man to make the trip to meet his daughter.

"Principal Feng, what is the exact question you are asking?" Long Jingyi asked with a calm face. Even though Principal Feng was an elder, their academies did not get along. Therefore, he did not have to be overly servile before him.

"You should know that Feng Yie is very precious to me." The older man said. "I would like to know if you were involved in her current state. If my students are right, you colluded with a stranger and put her in danger."

Long Jingyi laughed angrily. "Don't you think that is a very funny question, Principal Feng? You are acting like you did not hear what your student said earlier."

"What do you mean? I heard everything!" He was embarrassed about being called out by a junior.

"Then, can you tell him how you are looking at me like a culprit instead of treating me like a saviour?" Long Jingyi said. "The Cobalt-bellied Mamba might not be common, but you should be aware of what happens when someone is bitten."

Principal Feng realised he had been too hasty in confronting Long Jingyi, but he was not willing to admit his mistake before the huge crowd.

"The snake venom will indeed kill its target, but I cannot accept the use of devil cultivation techniques on my daughter." He said righteously. "If your friend used unusual methods, it would have harmed my daughter."

Long Jingyi was about to respond to him again, but Yuan Haoran stepped forward.

"If you would rather have her dead, I can easily correct my mistake." Yuan Haoran spoke coldly and lifted his hand.

Even though people could not see his face clearly, they felt afraid of the chill in his voice. He did not look like he was joking. Moreover, they could see him gathering spiritual energy in his hands as if he intended to kill Feng Yie.

"Who are you?" Principal Feng shouted with fear as he looked at the irrational man.

"Your daughter would have died from the venom. There was no other way to save her except for the so-called unusual methods. Since you believe I was wrong, it makes sense to right the scales by eliminating her. Right?" Yuan Haoran said.

Principal Feng released his pressure and targeted Yuan Haoran, intending to make him bow down before him. He had never met a junior who was so arrogant. He intended to teach him a lesson and make sure that he learned to respect his elders.

Of course, he did not plan on killing him because it would reflect badly on his standing as a teacher. However, if he did not do anything, he would lose face.

Unfortunately, his opponent was Yuan Haoran. When the rush of pressure came at him, it did not cause him to crumble to his knees like Mo Heng. If anything, it was a little therapeutic to Yuan Haoran because it provided resistance against his unstable power.

The experience gave Yuan Haoran an idea. Resistance training could be useful for improving his power and making his foundation a little more stable. However, he would need to understand the world a little more to determine the best approach.

Naturally, he knew fighting was a good choice, but he disdained mock fights. When he faced an opponent, he wanted it to end in complete defeat if not death.

Principal Feng realised that the man did not even stumble under his full pressure, and his face turned ugly. This cloaked person was quite young, but it seemed like he was more powerful. It was completely absurd, and it could only mean one thing.

"So, you are a devil cultivator!" Principal Feng shouted.

The crowd gasped in horror. It was one thing for the junior sisters to accuse Yuan Haoran of devil cultivation, and it was another for an elder to do the same. An elder's words held more weight and could be taken as truth.

"Why do you think so?" Yuan Haoran was unafraid.

"You are too strong." Principal Feng did not dare say more because people would understand that he failed to subdue Yuan Haoran with his pressure. He believed that someone younger could not defeat him without the use of nefarious methods.

Yuan Haoran snorted. "I can see that you share the same brain with your students. A bad teacher is indeed more harmful than a lack of education. At least, an educated person can rely on their instincts to think."

Long Jingyi laughed, but Principal Feng was not amused. He readied his body to attack Yuan Haoran, but he did not have a chance to do so. Just as he geared up, another elder came to stand next to him and stopped him from making a mistake.

"Brother Feng, you should listen to the children first. Accusing someone of devil cultivation is not a simple matter. You know the emperor is very concerned about this matter. And all things considered, this young man saved your beloved daughter." The woman said.

This lady was the sister to the emperor with the title of a princess. Most people found her position awkward because she was a princess who refused to get married and chose to stay in Obsidian City. Her only interest was in cultivation.

Her brother indulged her wishes, allowing her to live a carefree life.

"Please tell us about the treatment." She looked at Yuan Haoran and Long Jingyi.

Long Jingyi bowed lightly and stepped forward because he was afraid that Yuan Haoran would offend a member of the imperial family. It would turn out very badly for them if they were targeted by the emperor and his people.

"We have explained everything to the students of Shademantle Academy, but they are afraid of taking responsibility for allowing Feng Yie to be injured. There was no devil technique used. My friend induced vomiting using the bird excrement and used his spiritual energy to agitate the remaining poison."

Long Jingyi continued without pausing. "Finally, he placed the snake near the wound to confirm it was the culprit of the injury. After all, it is easy to mistake the species and give the wrong treatment. If he were a devil cultivator, he would not have gone through so much trouble to save Feng Yie."

With the explanation, Principal Feng did not have a leg to stand on. He felt embarrassed and looked at his students with anger. If they had explained everything so clearly, he would not have made a fool of himself.

Of course, that was a lie he told himself because he would have done the same thing even with accurate information.

"See, Brother Feng. Sometimes things are simple if you ask the right questions. There are many things we do not know about this world. I hope you are satisfied to know that this young man is not a devil cultivator." The Princess said.

When it looked like the matter was over, a new person stepped forward.

"Imperial Aunt, he might not be a devil cultivator, but he killed my brother and disposed of his body in the thunder field at the forbidden zone!"
