Chapter 22 - A technique

"If anything happens to him, there will be no food for you in this house" Shilla said, turning toward Dev, who shrugged her off like a passing fly and asked, "Do you have anything to inform him?"

Shilla turned toward Alex while saying, "Be... SAAFFEEEE!!!!"

She kicked the ground in frustration; there was nobody in front of her. Dev had deliberately informed her, and then, when she was about to convey her good wishes, he disappeared from her view.

"That coconut head."

****

In a faraway place, not that far in the same district where Raser lived...

There are a total of five zones in the world, each the size of a continent consists of different districts with varying size and environments.

Green Land is one of the zone with an abundant amount of flowers and Fiona, one of a district Yellows Ocean is situated near the sea. Once a year, that part of sea turned yellow, that's why this district was named as - "Yellow Ocean."

In this Yellow Ocean district, there is a large sky-touching building with a single board OF (BLINK) that glimmered slightly under the brilliance of gentle sunlight.

Blink is a short name for an international organization, 'BLESSED land & invocations corporations.' This organization was founded by higher ups from different zones to keep an eye on every blessed land, new invocar, and the spiritual ingredients.

Evert district with blessed land have one of Blink branch which is also a place where invocar sells their hunted spiritual creatures' bodies and gains some bucks.

This place branch sells soft ritual recipes, spiritual artifacts, and any sacrificial ingredients for light ritual.

In simple words, this is a market, a trademark for a person to buy any spiritual material they seek.

The only requirement to trade in this place is that an invocar has to legally register themselves so the government can keep track of their activities.

Right now, a sudden surge of wind generated in front of the Blink building.

Swoah.

Two people materialized out of nowhere: one, a black-haired teenage boy hovering in the middle of the air, while the other, a white-haired adult stood on the ground, both were wearing black sunglasses, hiding their eyes.

They were Alex and Dev.

Dev waved his hand in empty air, generating a black file, handing it over to Alex. He said, "Here's your first assignment. Give this to the person in charge of missions."

Thud.

Alex landed on the ground, momentarily losing his balance but in the end gaining his equilibrium.

He turned to Dev, staring at him silently, then at the file in front of him, and again at Dev.

He didn't move his eyes from Dev, just staring at him wordlessly, conveying his message .

"Do you need anything?" Dev asked with a smile, as if he didn't understand Alex's intention.

Although Alex wanted to ask a lot of things from Dev, like how did he know about him possessing Raser ? Is Dev an ally or an obstacle in his path, what are dev intentions? Does he want to save Raser, kill him, or is there something more at play.

Finally, disregarding his hesitation, he asked, "You know my intention, right?" It's sound stupid to directly confront A figure like Dev but he had be sure,

Dev didn't answer. Instead, he ordered, "Activate your seer eyes."

Instinctively, Alex's vision changed everything transform in a glowing bright light, almost like activation of heat vision but then he began to clearly distinctive humans bodies.

A hand appeared in front of him. In the next breath, it was covered by a glowing blue light, almost like it was on blue fire.

His head started to ache as his seer eyes were deactivated.

All things happened in just a split second.

Then he saw Dev, his hand in his pocket. "If you master this technique until the end of the mission, I'll answer you."

"Till then, I have a movie to watch," Dev turned around and disappeared.

What the hell was that?

Alex was unable to process anything. Everything happened too quickly.

He placed his hand on his temple, massaging it, trying to ease the headache.

"Now, when he comprehended the sequence, he was shocked. How could he activate his seer eyes when he didn't learn to control them? Was that the result of Dev's command?"

"Ah, that was painful," he murmured and wondered, while massaging his head, "How can Dev be in the mood to watch a movie when his student is going for his first mission?"

More than that, there were a lot of questions in his mind.

What does Dev want? What is my mission?

He was certain delivering this file is not the only one.

Another question was how the hell would he pay for the registration fees.

"Let's not think too much."

First, let me try the technique.

Dev had promised him to answer any questions if he could just learn that technique before this mission finished.

He would indirectly get the world's strongest support.

After all, the knowledge a person like Dev would possess is definitely extraordinary.

If he can just get that chance. He can ask him his secret warehouse artefacts or some secret place, untold history of the world, the secret of enlightenment.

More importantly, he can ask him about how to remove a spirit from the body. If not that, he can ask him how to stop the transfer happening between his and Raser's spirit.

With these hopes in his mind, he closed his eyes, reviewing the technique, his eyes glowing under the dark frame.

The first time, he was unable to understand the technique.

The second time, he put more pressure on his mind.

Then third.

Then more,

ahaa.

Fourth time.

Ahahaha.

He was about to try the sixth time, but he was interrupted by a voice,

"Excuse me, buddy. If your stomach is upset, the toilet is that way."

Then he realized how his face would have been when he tries to activate the technique and failing each time.

His expression definitely be that of a person struggling to dump his—_shit_. He curses in his mind.
