Alex exhaled deeply, then inhaled, each breath forcing him to accept the current situation.
A situation he had to accept, whether he liked it or not.
Dev had learned about him being a transmigrator, although he didn't explain his previous life in detail, only mentioning his last moment of death, like waking up from dreams and health degradation.
But that did not leave a good taste in his mouth.
The current situation reminded him of his inability to deny Dev's claims, his helplessness in standing against the pressure, the powerlessness to stop his flowing words of truth.
All of that feeling.
"It's... it's bitter..."
Shaking his head to dispel these thoughts, he started walking towards the boys and Dev. After all, delving into negative thoughts would give him nothing, so he decided to confront reality.
His each step allowing him to hear their discussion more clearly.
"Yeah, yesterday Raser acted strangely, fainting again and again, suddenly walking out of school. We didn't know where he went after that…"
"Now that we've told you all we know, will you give us an autograph? Nah, how about a… selfie."
"RICKY!!, give me your phone;its megapixels will be useful for once."
Impact quickly took out Ricky's phone and started to take a selfie. His hand shook, trembling with nervous excitement.
Some police officers stood in the backdrop, investigating the crashed car –Its smooth surface was now a twisted mess of metal, broken glass, and deep dents.
The flashing police lights made the wreckage seem even more surreal. It was if something powerful had collided with it, leaving behind a chaotic scene that was hard to believe. making it unbelievable how the youth had survived.
"Ah, give me that."Impact felt a surge of excitement tinged with nervousness as Dev took the phone from his hand..
Dev taking selfies told them, "Say cheese…"
Click, click. After some selfie, Dev turned to the police officer and took his leave.
Alex reached the boys…
"Guys, who is he?"
"Oh, Raser; you don't even remember him." Benzo said *slap*
"He is Dev, Dev Nath, the strongest invocar in the world; he may be in the second enlightenment, also the successor of the Nath family." Impact pointed toward him
Dev, with a serious expression, inspected the damaged car, and the police officers, in their uniforms, were busy documenting the wreckage.
The officer seemed puzzled, gesturing towards the car and talking in a low voice. Dev listened intently, occasionally nodding.
One thing Alex understood was clear that Dev's was not ordinary; he held a certain authority that the officers respected.
"He is also a professor at Nalanda Academy."
"Now don't tell me you don't know about Nalanda Academy."
Alex shook his head, conforming to Impact's guess.
"Nalanda Academy is like this amazing place that brings in super talented people from all over. It's special because they mix regular school stuff with learning cool abilities. Imagine studying maths and also how to control supernatural powers – all in one place!"
"Impact, we'll explain it later. Now is not the time. The important thing is, Raser, you have to go with him. He wants to analyse your house and help you exorcise the evil spirit."
Alex stared at him lightly, wondering why Dev would want to exorcise the spirit. He wondered even more about how lucky they were to survive the car crash .
Is this beginner's transmigration luck?
"Anyway, the current event – you see its the effect of auspicious time. I told you it's when the universe itself helps you in your endeavours."
"Considering the intensity, how vivid the sequence of events is, it's your luckiest time. That even affected your surroundings. Because of you, we also survived."
"Otherwise, what are the chances of a powerful person coming to save just a normal car accident and helping you get rid of evil spirits? They are 1%."
Tring, tring, tring… The Impact's cell phone buzzed.
"Don't tell me it's what I am thinking?"
"Yeah, you are correct."
They realised it was the timer they set to remind them about the end of their fortunate period.
"you brats done or not?" Dev interfered in their talk.
"Yes, sir, we are finished," Benzo stuttered but answered.
"Good luck, Raser. You'll need it. Just wish the after effects are not too intense."
Alex felt a slight chill in his body. Hearing the last line, he understood what Ricky was referring to—that was the sacrifice.
Alex had just learned from Ricky: everything has a price; every ritual has a payment. Considering the luck he had received, it might be an aftereffect of it.
One by one, three of them left, walking toward the police officer. They were ordered by Dev to go home and sleep – rest they urgently needed after being up and not having slept since yesterday, turning a night out into quite an adventure.
When they sat in the car, at the backside, a police officer also came in. He said, "You brats are lucky. If it wasn't for that mister dev, you might have died."
The police officer turned back, witnessing all three youths sleeping at the seat, taking an ad of window shoulder or lap; Benzo crossed the line, sleeping like on the seat and Lap like bed in his house.
"Youthful time," the officer commented. He had already been informed by Dev why they were overspeeding. Dev even paid the fine and finished some paperwork, as one of the teenage boys was his student. He took on the role of a guardian.
Vroom, vroom, the sound of the engine echoed, indicating the car's readiness for departure.
It started disappearing from view, vanishing into the horizon, leaving Alex alone with one of the most powerful individuals in the world known as Dev.
